Gavaskar is right

The tradition of Mahendra Singh Dhoni to select useless players that are his favorites continues under Virat Kohli. The selection of Pujara and Pandey in one day internationals would have put India in a better position. Every one knows that Raina is a bunny on bouncy tracks and Bhuveshwar Kumar does not have the pace to be counted at the international level.

These present
by Sunil Kumar on Mar 07, 2014 01:04 PM  | Hide replies

These present bunch of mostly good-for-nothing players are promoting each other and building a wall around themselves so that no new players and no really talented players gets a chance. Imagine the morale of the player like Cheteswar Pujara, who might have been so much pained for making him sit for all the matches, and it is the fact that no one is match for this talent in the present lot, except Ravindra Jadeja. I think it is politics everywhere in the team and the spectators are just fooled all the time.

Promising all-rounder Pervez Rasool was also denied a chance to make his international debut vs zimbabwe.

Not a big fan of Gawaskar as cricket commentator, I do have to agree with his observations here. This trend started ever since Dhoni became captain. Dhoni seem to have picked his favorite, but incompetents, over the more deserving players...

Yes for once SMG is absolutely right in his views on the omission of Pujara & I Pandey for the last match of Asia Cup Vs Afganistan. The "Think Tank" should have tested their bench strength against the minnows!!!!!

unlucky
by Raja on Mar 06, 2014 01:23 PM

The bench players are most unlucky if they dont have the backup from management...if team wins they will say that dont want to change the winning combination and if it loses they will say they dont want to risk by going for a change....Sunny is right ...if they don't change the team for such an inconsequential match then when will they change...
