Kohli was right in going for the win, but when it was clear that this was not on, he should have had a plan B to hold on for a draw. Now the team is on the back foot 0-1. A wise Captain would have tried to go into the next match 0-0 rather than 0-1.
We all know the politics Gavaskar played with Kapil. He had Kapil dropped on the eve of his 100h consequetive test against England. Gavaskar treated Kapil very badly.
Mr. Gavaskar is absolutely right. People are expecting too much from the stand-in-captain. Let him concentrate on his batting, which has improved over a while. These foreigners want to ruin the game by creating controversies, as one of them had done earlier to forced Saurav Ganguly to step down. Dear selectors, Please give some more years to our beloved Captain Cool M.S.D.
This is a classical case of Jumping the gun. Kholi has captained just one test match. His contribution as a batsman was simply brilliant. But what has he done as a captain? His approach was aggressive as a batsman. But, was he trying to attack when India was bowling? No... Even his field placements were just ordinary. He was no different from Dhoni when India was bowling and we should remember we couldn't take 10 Australian wickets in both the innings.

looks good. But Rohit will not able to do well as opener. Better bring new comer Rahul as he played in Australia inn India A matches instead of Raina. Jadeja is fine
At the first place there is no debate as to who is the captain: It is Dhoni, there is nothing wrong to prepare a back up plan in the form of Virat and that does not mean there is a debate, may be personally Gavaskar is not benefitted from Dhoni being the captain.
