Better to have an intelligent enemy rather than a foolish friend.

Dhoni fans qualify for the latter category.

Think of indian cricket.

ODI & T20 Wcup are attributed to Dhoni's brillience(ZERO contribution as player) now you have to admit that defeats are also because of HIM

Today current defeats are attributed to TEAM not to his captaincy how is this fair......

If captincy is measured on records today DHONI stands as worst captain ever in history of cricket to have most number of overseas defeats as captain surpassing S Fleming & B Lara

Captain is responsible for the team he chooses, specially in the overseas.

Why is Parthiv or Sanju Samson or Amit Mishra (leg spinners have been a nemesis for England)or Ojha not in the team?

Because Dhoni has been forced to pick CSK players.

Anyone and everyone who says anything negative abt Dhoni
by Parika Gupta on Aug 20, 2014 10:19 PM  | Hide replies

Has ulterior motives.

Keep your ostrich like pose and take Indian cricket to new depths, because we love Dhoni and there is no alternative.

The same was said when Azhar was the captain. "No alternative" but then came Ganguly.

nonsense ...ganguly came because sachin refused captaincy...if sachin was ready...then like before the play would have continued some times azhar captain some times sachin...

Be happy and keep Dhoni as captain. There is no alternative.

Next world cup can be shifted to India.

Make Kohli the captain in an Indian series and then test him in overseas.

Keep Dhoni as WC batsman.

Even if Parmatma comes doewn and says remove honi
by Parika Gupta on Aug 20, 2014 10:10 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI & Srini will not do that. "There is no alternative to Dhni".

How can there be an alternative when Ganguly, Tendulker, Kumble, Sehwag, Lakshman have all been eliminated.

I know Dhoni fans love him, but they should think in terms of the good of Indian cricket.

In fact media is trying to equate his abroad record to Kohli, by saying how Kohli failed (first time in overseas) and how how Dhoni performed (for the first in overseas).

As such we always accused Tendelker of playing redundent innings 'that in no way influenced the outcome of the match'. But that is not applicable to Dhoni.

Dravid scored two 100s in the last washout English tour, but was forced to retire.

Dhoni scored 4 half centuries, so he needs to be here for 40 years.

ganguly sachin dravid laxman sehwag kumble all retired or were dropped because they were not performing as players...nothing to do with dhoni captaincy...

if that was the reason then would rohit sharma rahane pujara kohli gambhir be in the team? are they not competitors for dhoni's captaincy?

mr brearly it is alright if dhoni's captaincy and wicket keeping is not upto test standard...that is not very important at all...and if you say his batting is also not test standard again thats all right...because that is also very unimportant...

i personally wont prefer a captain who is test standard but does not win much and loses more times than wins...i personally would prefer a captain who is not test standard but who is country's most successful test captain and also one who has taken his country to no. 1 rank in that format...

i personally wont prefer a wicket keeper who is test standard but not many wickets to his credit behind the stumps...i personally will prefer a wicket keeper who is not test standard but takes many wickets behind the stumps...who is the country's most successful wicket keeper...and btw also ranks in the top 5 wicket keepers who have taken most wickets behind the stumps in international cricket...

i personally wont prefer a batsman who is test standard but cant make too many runs and fails in crisis times and does not put a price to his wicket...i personally will prefer a batsman who is not test standard but puts a price on his wicket...he need not have the best technique in the world but knows how to play well within his limitations...somebody who even though a wicket keeper has better test record than many specialist batsmen and who has a 50 plus score each 3.5 innings in tets...and averages close to 50 runs in his country's test wins....

with Mike brearly. Dhoni's captainship abroad has been utter failure and disappointment. The t20 we won in SA was because of yuvi's brilliance and also the 2011 world cup. There was no brllliance in captainship there. The champions trophy was the brilliance of dhavan and rohit and virat's batting and surprisingly the bowling. His field placement and selection of his favourite boot licking players (jadeja) has been going on for long now. He has destroyed players like sehwag and gambhir. We should not forget gambhirs 97 in 2011 finals and 75 in 2007 t20 finals. He was a class act and revolted in australia for saying ''the match shouldnt have gone to the last over'' as always done by this dhoni on almost all the occasions. He paid the price and now is clearly struggling. Dhoni has become a politician with these crooks like srini and sharad pawar and gang. Its high time we relieve him as captain and get someone else. I know there is no one else right now, but we have change the pattern now. Its going on forever bringing embarrassement to the country. People are waving white flags for us and making jokes which is so insulting. Remember we are the most successful team in teh world along with australia. 3 cricket world cups, 1 benson/hedges world series, 2 champion trophies, 5 asia cups and many tri series of high calibre.

Dhoni's leadership
by viswanath r on Aug 20, 2014 09:25 PM  | Hide replies

As per my views Dhoni is the only player now in the team, who are showing some performance either as Captain/player/teammate. He is really a matured & cool temper man and I feel he shoujld be continue to lead the team. I am not finding any body in the present team who can take the charge of the team in England. This is practice of we Indian, when things are going as per our choice, we will praise even 11th player of the team. As such cricret to be taken as a sports and we all should have sportsmanship.
