by Pat Thakur on Aug 18, 2014 05:37 PM

I mean, the overjoyed Britishers have given them these ratings. "Keep coming whenever there are cricket tours.....

(so that all players are diverted n bring about India's loss collectively, every time.)

Dhoni normally comes at 5 down - by which time the ball loses its shine and it may be easier to bat on . If he was in such great nick as score indicates - I would have recommend he come 203 down so he can stop the rot .Why this was not done ? Time and agin I maintain - A team game - must have Bowlers ,Batsmen who have to take specific responsibility and every one should be good fielders some whose reflexes are super should be in slips and some with good throw and long throws should be in deep and this should be identified with in a short time . Expecting every 8,9, 10,11 to score runs is a bit too much when they score it is bonus and do not start branding players on the basis of a few performances .finally prepare pitches or create simulated conditions for practice before over seas tours and also in Ranji matches .

BCCI is rethinking on agreeing to DRS. Under the new rule, an Indian captain is allowed to go back on his decision to bat first under overcast conditions also.

Too high

Some of the rating appear to be high. Particularly that of Ishant. His success because English man played poor cricket at Lords. He employed the same tactics in Day 3 of the last test. What happened? He got pulverised. In my opinion, he is one bowler who doesn't have the brains to play test cricket. Binny 5/10? May be 3 or 4? Considering that he was taken as a swing bowler, he hardly demonstrated that. MSD 7/10 is also too much in favour. His tactics when fielding left a lot of people worried including his bowlers.

BCCI is trying to implement 3 day format after successful completion of 2 tests on the 3rd day itself!!

Nighmarish series
by Kunal Dar on Aug 18, 2014 03:24 PM

Indian team was again exposed to the rigours of longer format of the game. This is nothing new as we shud not have any issues in conceding that we have always been poor travellers abroad. The embarrasing part is that the Board, players have done very little in resolving this issue. We have all the facilities & finances to get out of this rut except for not setting the priorities on improving our test cricket skills.I dont want to get drawn into a long, boring discussion but would urge BCCI to take stock of the situation and create a plan to rectify this error/defect which has crept into the psyche of everyone in this country to sweep away every debacle series under the carpet.Kudos to the English bowlers especially Anderson for showing us the lost art of beautiful, control swing bowling.
