Indias performance in England
by dear kan on Aug 19, 2014 02:11 PM  | Hide replies

It is the dropped catches that had done in India apart from pathetic batting display. Our bowlers bowled well but the ground fielding was horrible. Field placements and decision to bat when the conditions were favouring bowling have contributed to the thrashing. India should change the captain. He seems to be very exhausted both as captain as well as fielder. So remove him. BCCI should look for saha for wicket keeper. Major fault lies with batting and ground fielding.

Indian bowlers bowl well when their batting collapses.

How can Kohli suddenly become an ordinary batsman ??
by Shilpa Mehta on Aug 19, 2014 01:18 PM  | Hide replies

There are absolutely no doubts on Viraat Kohli ‘s capabilities . He’s a great batsman & can
perform on any type of wickets anywhere in the world . He has scored many times in the
past . There is nothing left to prove in him . Just one bad series cannot rate him as an
ordinary batsman . Even greats like Gavaskar , Sachin , Dravid , Richards , Ponting , Lara , Azhar
has failed in one or two series during their peak time .
Surely , Kohli will emerge more Strongly than before .
Neither IPL Nor this Anushka will have any effect on Kohli's batting .
BTW : Who’s this ANUSHKA ??

Because ordinary batsmen look extraordinary on home soil.

conspiracy ?
by Chuckie42 on Aug 19, 2014 12:29 PM  | Hide replies

someone was just saying that a chunk of players are revolting against Dhoni. They want to kick out Dhoni from the team , that is the real reason of them underperforming.

Most of the players are very young and they cannot revolt against Dhoni and it can not be true. There are no senior players in the team excepting Gambhir.

The 3-1 loss of the series is terrible but could not be helped. Batsmen were failing regularly. ANy Indian must think why could MSD not leave out Pujara &/or Kohli in at least a test. Maybe someone else could have been made to play in their place? At least public would have been happy that he tried doing something different? These 2 were played thro the series despite their flop show & only after 1 test Rohit was dropped. Also MSD tends to forget that Rohit is an option as off-spinner that can be tried out. When Moeen ALi was doing so well at least Rohit could have been tried. Why was Jadeja persisted for 3 tests & then dropped. Bhuvi needed a well deserved break. Many questions are being raised but I doubt if MSD will ever answer them?? I hope that we perform better in ODI Series? as Shastri / Sunny are saying we must be prepared for a 4-0 whitewash in OZ already.

India's flop show
by raja r on Aug 19, 2014 09:07 AM  | Hide replies

The article is silent on India's butter fingered slip cordon. Jadeja, Murali Vijay, Kohli,Dhawan were the culprits. Dravid did drop a few catches in the fag end of his career but he took some brilliant and stunning catches too. The present fielders were horrible and had less than 50% success. As McGrath correctly put it that it is very much harsh on the bowlers. Aaron would have a much better figures had all catches off his bowling were held.

Problems of Indian batsmen
by Varadarajan Ravindran on Aug 19, 2014 01:20 AM

Pujara has a high back lift that makes him vulnerable to the incoming ball. If he lowers his back lift and reduces his tat-nad-pad gap, he will become the best batsman in the world.

Virat Kohli has major foot-work problem that needs correction. He is unable to come to the pitch of the ball, and is in all sorts of difficulty against the moving ball. He must sort out his foot-work problem with the gerat Gavaskar and Viswanath.

Vijay and Gambhir have again foot-work problems. On top of it, Vijay is a mediocre batsman.

Dhawan is a talented batsman who must reduce his shots and wait for the loose ball. In this way, building up a stronger defense will make him play the moving ball much better and reduce the possibility of edging to the slip fielders. This correction will yield him top scores in the future.

The batting coach has to take care of all these minor problems to obtain good results. Duncan Fletcher is a very uninvolved and operpaid slob who must be fired immediately.
