it was a shocker for me when i heard him saying who says i am out of form, i got 3 MOM in last 6 to 8 T20's. when i was declared MOM against aussies.

c'mon yuvi the fact is you were out of form even in those practice matches, your body language says it all

and now you have proved it

All the cricketers and the rabble who are supporting Yuvi are missing the point. The failure to score in the final is just a symptomatic indication of the fact that Yuvraj's talent has waned. His ponderous running between the wickets, high frequency of catches dropped, poor fielding display and generally tired demeanor all are indications for both him and the selectors to move on beyond Yuvi. You can see a hidden feeling of selfishness in Gambhir and other cricketers who are supporting him. Perhaps they want him to fail so that they get another chance in place of some other youngster.

Selfish Yuvraj's career is over
by Inzy Bhai on Apr 09, 2014 04:36 PM

He was getting some much needed practice for the IPL where he has to bow down to Mallaya for the Rs 14 crores dished out to him. Sri Lanka was extremely lucky that Dhoni could not do much or else they could have ended up chasing 160 & that would have made all the difference. But Tendulkar backing Yuraj is pathetic to say the least. Yuvraj for all practical purposes has played his last match for India.

useless comparison

being a good natural striker Yuvaraj should have gone for the big hits which was expected from him square of the wicket and a shorter boundary. but he disappointed . Anyway the srilankans did well to restrict him but did not try take his wicket knowing his discomfort . Poor virat was left stranded and even dhoni, raina was fretting and fuming at the pavilion. with every ball -It was clear in everyone's face in the pavilion -that momentum is being lost in crucial time and yuvi did nothing to change it. for any keen follower - It was quite apparent the match was already lost in this phase. of course we cannot blame one individual but in this case yuvi should take responsibility .

Apple vs orange comparision

First of all Misbah should not have been in the list. Rest all listed enteies atleast got out early giving rest of the team at least a chance to recover. Even in case of Malinga the lankan captain would have option to ball other. In case of Yuvi, he neither scored run nor got out or retired. Kohli at the other end was helpless. Ideally Yuvi should have blasted and was okay if he was out while doing that.

Misbah was not a culprit

I don't know how Misbah Ul Haq included in this list.Pak had an almost impossible task of getting 54 runs off last 4 overs with Misbah and the bowlers remaining. But he changed everything hitting 3 sixes in one Harbhajan over and came just 1 hit away from glory. But he couldn't connect well and end up on frustration. But i think Afridi was more criticised than Misbah as he got out 1st ball slogging wildly.

Agreed Jomesh, Misbah was actually bashed for the 2011 WC semis.. Rediff is too desperate to bring in news..

Even for the low scores of Dilshan & Watson, they dint have much impact since they were in the initial overs unlike Yuvraj's case..

Yes,no doubt.Even if Yuvraj got out, trying to slog, for zero in 2 or 3 deliveries,it would have been a bigger contribution than the 11 runs of 21 deliveries.

Yuvraj

I dont think it is fair to blame Yuvraj. It is the selection policy. Yuvi was struggling from match 1. he should have been rested and taken back after practise. Our aim is to win. not be sentimental and play on hopes of a cricketers past performance.
