YUVRAJ A GREAT PLAYER . - IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES -
by Shilpa Mehta on Apr 08, 2014 02:20 PM  | Hide replies

Team India are world champions in 2007 & 2011 & in current champions trophy just because of Yuvraj & MSD .
These are two real match winners & great finishers of the game who performs under pressure suitations & has done it several times in the past .
Agreed that Yuvraj should have at least rotated the strike in this finals if not big hits .
Earlier India use to always lose chasing 275 or 280 if the score is say 150 for five .
Players like MSD , Yuvi & Raina broke this jinx .

do not live in the past, dhoni did a mistaking by underestimating the Lankan bowling and overestimating UV's ability. he failed miserably, bottom line finally India Lost

T20 defeat

A bowler in the nature of R Vinaykumar was needed in the death overs. The failure of Rahane and Yuvraj's inability to force the pace and Kohli's failure to seize opportunity during that critical juncture(during his partnership with Yuvi) took the match away from India

pathetically he proved these once again and also proved that every day gamble may not work. 2007 T20 tournament he performed nothing but lifted the cup, 2011 WC he did nothing except muddy fishing in final and lift the cup but this time skeleton opened.

yes, but he is not sole responsible

Yes, yuvraj's innings played a major role in taking the match away from India, but he should not be pictured as villian. As Dhoni put it, it was off day for Yuvraj. Rohit & Rahane are also equally responsible, as they throwed their wicket.

What surprised me was that how Yuvraj poor form in the tournament affected his thinking, I am sure he would have danced down the wicket or moved quickly to off stump to nuetralise the outside the off stump yarker attack by the srilankan bowlers. If Yuvraj had a senior partner like dhoni certainly he would have given him some tips. Kholi restrained himself doing that considering Yuvi's experiance and seniority
