and so they won. Yuvi did not play well but that doesn't mean he is responsible for this loss. Who knows what would have happened if Raina or Dhoni came in ahead. They could have also failed. It is all hypothetical. Fact is, SriLanka played well, better than India on the day. So, they won. T20 is a lottery anyway. If any team can win on its day, it is not right to pin the blame of the loss on one player. Blame the game.
yuvraj should have hit-out or got-out after the 6th ball, that would have given Kohli, Dhoni and Raina atleast 15 more ball to score. Though Yuvi should not be sacked, he should have acted responsibly.
The way Yuvraj was batting, it looked like he was holding a Broomstick and not a cricket bat. He was not showing any confidence to play big shots, as he was just nudging, deflecting, dabbing and defending. With over 10 years behind him, wonder why he was batting in this manner? Very strange, that Yuvi could not display basic batting abilities in a world cup final. Getting out in the first ball was better for him, with Raina and Dhoni still to bat.
UV has a glorious past and we are all very proud of that, but clearly he isn't the same player now and he ought to have realized that and not forced himself/ piled on to the team. There is a very selfish side to UV and we came to see that when he ignored the request made by all the King Fisher employees who haven't been paid salaries for months by Mr Mallya to reject the IPL offer made and we see that again now.. Life has a way of evening things out and UV is paying for being so greedy. After coming out of such a traumatic illness he ought to have learnt his lesson and have more humility.. Alas none of that has happened and that's quite sad to see. Lastly, his IPL performance will not be any different and I am glad Mr Vijay (Obtuse) Mallya will weep tears of blood.
it was all fear playing in Yuvi's mind that day. he was not playing cricket as he had no confidence. he never bent his knees and tried to sweep ball out of park. This feeling comes only when one is not sure of what he is doing and hence was the main cause of the loss.
This will even continue if he does not change his approach. Only attacking game approach could bring his form back but it is too late now.
It is unfair to blame Yuvraj for the T20 debacle. Yuvraj has never been a great player of spin and with the Sri Lankans operating spinners from both ends, it was suicidal to send Yuvraj in. The obvious choice in such a situation should have been Suresh Raina but instead Dhoni chose to send Yuvraj in. In fact, the moment I saw Yuvraj coming in to bat,I remember telling my son, who was watching the match along with me, that it could turn out to be a strategic blunder...and how prophetic it turned out to be!!! It is surprising that Dhoni has failed to read this weakness in Yuvraj inspite of being his team mate for such a long time. Most of Yuvraj's big scores have come against fast bowlers and his performance against good spin attacks has always been mediocre to less than impressive. Therefore, the blame should go to the captain and not to Yuvraj. Poor Yuvraj should not be singled out for this debacle. Such things can happen to anybody. Yuvraj is a special talent which should be encouraged and nurtured.
It is all about ‘Mukaddar Ka Sikandar’. Dhoni never played well in all ICC tournaments, captaincy was not good. But every time one or two players performed so or due to opponents blunder that he had the last smile, due to only for his great luck. But his gambling about player selection, batting order, bowling change and field placing could not allow him to have a last laugh in 2014 T20 final. 1. Choice of Mohit was failure in SF but he still choose Mohit in place of Shami, may be he remember Jogindar Sharma of 2007 final, but his gambling did not work. 2. It was known to Dhoni that pitch was spin friendly, so he could start with spin at one side. 3. To defend 130 run field placing should be more attacking, placing a 2 nd slip, as he was keeping nearer to stumps for pace bowling also. After two snick and catches passed through slip he brought a slip fielder. 4. Everybody knows that Yuvi is a slow starter, run rate was down, he could brought Rayna and himself before Yuvi but he did not. There was no game plan by Indian team management as done by SRL and executed very well in bowling strategy player wise and field planning. It has been always said that he is ‘Captain cool’. Actually he remains cool because he is a fool and does not know in what situation what to do, what is to instruct to bowlers and fielders, what will be the game plan and strategy, what should be the final 11, what should be the order, field placing. Loosing the final pathetically

he proved these once again and also proved that every day gamble may not work. 2007 T20 tournament he performed nothing but lifted the cup, 2011 WC he did nothing except muddy fishing in final and lift the cup but this time skeleton opened.
