I never consider Ravi Shastry as legend. To me he is better commentator then cricketer.

THE MESS IN BCCI
by Rajiv Sharma on Oct 03, 2013 01:00 PM  | Hide replies

We all know the reason for the shastris and the gavaskars defending the present bcci setup, but a lot was expected when kumble and srinath entered cricket administration. the nation and millions of cricket fans feel let down and betrayed by their silence on the murky affairs of the bcci, to say the least. Can we atleast expect bedi, prasanna and dravid to stand up and be counted? these are people known for their outspokenness and free from the shackles of "contracts" and "administration".

Dravid is a Vice-President in India Cements. He will make some general remarks, but do not expect any outspoken statements from him.

Legends of Indian cricket
by Ajit Galgale on Oct 03, 2013 12:33 PM

Now Indian cricket is in hand of politicain. and crickers dance as per their will. Many past legends including Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar are very vocal for many issues but are silent on present Tamasha. May be becasue they are heavily paid for non talking.

All are trying to make maximum money as much as possible.

I was baffled when despite the furore before BCCI Election not a single association / individual raised any objection to the Board was run at the Sunday AGM. My arithmetic revealed that no association could afford to lose Rs.10 Cr plus income from media rights and over Rs 12 Cr from IPL collections besides an infra-structure subsidy of Rs 60-70 Crs. Individuals like I.S. Bindra could not harm PCA’s interest..ditto for Srinath & Kumble. Srikanth is VC with India Cements. Gavaskar & Shashtri have already gone on record that their broadcasting contracts with BCCI restrain them. Bedi & Kapil, after futile fight, may now deem it wiser to swim with the tide – their largesse from BCCI was with held for a long time. This goes for our legends and icons. All the favourites were duly rewarded with positions on various BCCI committees on Monday. However, if there is anything wrong in the functioning of BCCI, why did not all powerful politicians & legal luminaries on Board [past & present] point out to Mr Srinivasan and oppose him? You cannot simply enjoy the benefits of all the pelf and flog the President alone to look clean! Match-fixing or not, they have it all fixed : how to milk the cash-rich cow - BBCI!
