Well written article. Even the other day speaking to a news channel, Gavaskar, when asked how he felt about the ipl team owners being named in fixing/betting episode - he simply said that the 90s match fixing was more surprising for him!
well today cricket in india is a well organised business and all the ppl involved in it be it current players, ex-cricketers, bosses of bcci politicians and others all r making money.
cricket is a money spinning machine for them and they r extracting it to the fullest extent.
now a days even the foreign ex-players have realised it and they have also join the fun

I was baffled when despite the furore before BCCI Election not a single association / individual raised any objection to the Board was run at the Sunday AGM. My arithmetic revealed that no association could afford to lose Rs.10 Cr plus income from media rights and over Rs 12 Cr from IPL collections besides an infra-structure subsidy of Rs 60-70 Crs. Individuals like I.S. Bindra could not harm PCA’s interest..ditto for Srinath & Kumble. Srikanth is VC with India Cements. Gavaskar & Shashtri have already gone on record that their broadcasting contracts with BCCI restrain them. Bedi & Kapil, after futile fight, may now deem it wiser to swim with the tide – their largesse from BCCI was with held for a long time. This goes for our legends and icons. All the favourites were duly rewarded with positions on various BCCI committees on Monday. However, if there is anything wrong in the functioning of BCCI, why did not all powerful politicians & legal luminaries on Board [past & present] point out to Mr Srinivasan and oppose him? You cannot simply enjoy the benefits of all the pelf and flog the President alone to look clean! Match-fixing or not, they have it all fixed : how to milk the cash-rich cow - BBCI!
If these guys are earning in crores in year then why they will say anything against bcci? Kapil did that, what happen? he lost 4-5 years of money because of it. So let them earn, dont ask questions...
