Temperamentally,Gavaskar was much better than him. He's a white elephant of late who always hid behind the broad shoulder of Shewag & Dravid ! If he's so great, why his 4th innings average is less than 40 ? He scored his last Test century 3 years ago. It is surprising why he's still in the squad !
Sachin should get Bharat Ratna long time back but Congress hold it to declare at his retirement to get emotional vote bank for declaring Bharat Ratna at election Time.
In 1956, at the age of 51, Dhyan Chand retired from the army with the rank of Major. After he retired he coached for a while, then settled in his beloved Jhansi. The last days of Dhyan Chand were not very happy, as he was short of money and was badly ignored by the nation. Once he went to a tournament in Ahmedabad and they turned him away not knowing who he was. He developed liver cancer, and was sent to a general ward at the AIIMS, New Delhi.
