I salute the media power, the publicity power. I salute deserving awardee of Bharat Ratna -Sachin also but one thing baffles me, although Sachin's stature is of untouchable heights still did the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Sourav Ganguli, Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid not deserve the kind of farewell that Sachin was accorded albeit with lesser hype and media glare..wuld the congress led govt. at the centre still awarded Sachin with Bharat Ratna if he was a Rajya Sabha member of BJP instead of Congress.
One can't say for sure whether it's Irony or Servilty, becoz bestowing the highest National civilian award for the first time in sports category in independant nation, the Honours should have rightly first bestowed to a National Game- Hockey and its best exponent and legend, the late Mr. Dyanchand. But, by erroneously and hastly conferring this highest national award to a sport's person representing a vestige of a Colonial Game- Cricket, does not augur well for an Independant Nation- Bharat of 1.2 Billions, as it only reinforces the nation's servility to a colonial mindset, even after 66 years of independance from a colonial stranghold.

Go home have a cold water shower, eat something and take a nap.. you need to relax and not get worked up so much ..No one who has not achieved atleast 10 % of what Sachin or Dhyanchad have acheved have any right to talk or comment.. Just because rediff allows free comments doent mean everyone has to open their mouth
Sachin'S Cricketing Career having lots of Ups and Downs he was in FULL ACTION FROM 1996-1999. Especially in SHARJAH CUP Against Pakistan innings really life time memorable to all cricketing Fans.
You deserved this Bharat Ratna Award and u got it. All the best Sachin. You are a humble man, soft spoken, and above all came up from a humble beginning. Have a splendid time of your balance life as u richly deserve it.
