NO OTHER THAN RENOWNED CLEAN CRICKET MASTERS SHOULD BE IN BCCI BO
by subrata banerjee on May 20, 2013 02:46 PM

BCCI's president sri srinivasan has expressed their inability to take appropriate steps in order to nab match fixing in IPL matches. Carefully note that match fixing in Indian IP tournament has become the hunting ground for bookies for match fixing. It certainly proves that this IPL tournament is being held not really as a competitive tournament, instead, it helps punters, bookies for match fixing and in the way BCCI has made the whole IPL tournament a great betrayal ground. Now the president openly confessed that they are private body and not accountable to RTI and can go on doing as it has been running.
In this matter I would like to see only great cricket masters of the past with clean record in the governing body of BCCI and it should function in order to run and administrate indian cricket with more prudence and without match fixing. ALL THE PRESENT GOVERNING BODY MEMBERS OF BCCI SHOULD RESIGN ACCEPTING THEIR INCOMPETENCE TO RUN SUCH AN IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT.

RTI not Applicable
by arvind kayan on May 20, 2013 02:26 PM

BCCI is an autonomous body, a club. They do not want to be a party to RTI. No harm , but their contention that they also cannot control spot fixing or for that matter match fixing sounds logical but against the law.
They are providing a virtual gambling table to the people and state that they are not responsible. To start with, the minimum the Govt. can do is let the investigating agency raise a bill for the investigation, the time spent, and the bill for the stay of their players in police custody or jail custody on BCCI and make them pay.
This will encourage BCCI to stock of their own flock. Further, they can be penalized for the wrongful act of their players.
The BCCI is churning money from the game but when it comes to scam or fixing, the tax payer is being penalized. Can any of our politicians answer, why should the burden be shared by the common man?

Masaala Movie
by sonu singh on May 20, 2013 02:15 PM

Today's cricket is not a game, cricket is like a masala movie, create scandals & you will got more and more publicity. what bollywood's is doing in cricket, nothing but creating scandals. Off course BCCI is not responsible for all these, they are only responsible for increasing money & corruption. Cricketers are most corrupt actors, selling themselves for money. they are not sports persons, they are just "Greedy Cricketers".

basically BCCI is showing the middle finger to the rest of the country men. they dont want no rules imposed on them, which apparently applies to the rest of the indians. they went on to say that the BCCI team represents only them and it does not represent INDIA! can you beat that ?

betting in cricket.

Many eyebrows are being raised now as the integrity of the worlds richest cricket body is under scanner by press and other agencies. If one recalls the incident on fixing it was Mark Waugh and Shane Warne found guilty during the OZ tour to Pakistan. They were handed over very light punishment. Then comes the Azhar, Jadeja and the Hansie Cronje incidents. No one knows how fixing was started. The truth never came out and the players were punished. Poor Cronje died (was it really an accident). The last incident involving couple of Pak players like Salman Bhat and others also , it was not possible to get involved in such incidents without any big sharks being a party to the racket. The players have been punished. In the present case also the big sharks are still roaming around freely with the small fishes sent behind bars. If one watched the game between Chennai and Mumbai Indians, PunjabXiand Mumbai, Chennai Vs RCB (latest truncated match) it raises doubts. Matching fixing is still going on and cannot be brought to an end. If,however the main big bosses acting behind the scene and luring the less known player are brought to light there may be a temporary halt. There is fixing in test cricket, 50 over matches even in world cup. There were articles in 1983 after India's world cup win that bookies had a role to play. Unless all cricket playing nations get together and take a decision on fixing officially these type of incidents will occur.

It means not transparent...
by Discusion Forum on May 20, 2013 12:15 PM  | Hide replies

If dealings of BCCI is are transparent why they fear of RTI ? If BCCI is a private firm where is its profit going? BCCI is dealing with ICC on behalf of the country so it should be nationalised.
