If RTI is not applicabe to IPL/Bcci why exemption of Incometax, Entertainment and the other concessions are given to them ? Why the precious foreign exchang is spent on giving remuneration to the overseas players and share of income to the International cricket board from our public money ?

YES, THAT IS THE POINT. THIS PRIVATE BODY CALLED BCCI WANTS TO BE PRIVATE WHEN RTI IS CALLED FOR AND THEY ACT AS IF THE COUNTRY WOULD BE DOOMED IF CRICKET WAS NOT PLAYED UNDER THEIR GANG. WHAT GOOD HAVE THEY DONE SO FAR? THEY SPIN-OFF MONEY FOR ALL THEIR COMFORTS WITH NO SOCIAL COMMITMENT. BECAUSE MANY POLITICIANS' INTEREST ARE COVERED BY CRICKET AND BCCI, THE PRIVATE BODY RULES LIKE MAFIA WITH NO ACCOUNTABILITY.
Its high time ... Ministry of Sports should include Cricket under their sports list & should organise a team to play the International matches, whenever there are matches between India and any foreign team.
The Recent IPL6 Spot fixing saga is a sort of farce and a master stroke of Diversionary Tactics employed by govt just to defelect the Electronic and Print Media's attention from all the Scams that are littered in Public Domain. The Govt laid Honey trap has worked well with media, who have an habit to chase sensational news item to improove their TRIP rating. With this frace expose, the Govt suceeded in filling the Print and TV channels for the last 4 to 5 days only with IPL6 spot fixing saga and putting all other live scams on the back burner.
On one count Mr. Srinivasan says RTI is not applicable to BCCI as this is a board, but on the other hand he expects the tax paying public to support the IPL. The yardsticks cannot be different at different times. BCCI is not above common public.
All this WWF kind of cricket is a big betting field. It requires proper regulation in the interest of national security. Thousand of crores of unaccounted money going into the hand of our enemies will creat huge trouble for us.Not only RTI we need regulator and exemplary tax compliance from IPL and BCCI. And stringent law against betting. With exemplary punishment.
To minimize the chances of spot fixing, as it is not possible to curb it totally, hi-power BCCI committee is mulling the idea of implementing a new dress code in IPL - only brief and vest.

I dont support the way BCCI functions in any way. But as far as income tax is concerned, they did pay an income tax of 900cr this yr
Not a single developed nation (barring Eng/Aus) is playing cricket or promoting it. In these developed nations cricket is currently dead among the younger generation. In fact, cricket today is virtually confined within the Indian sub-continent. If by some miracle, major nations like the USA, China, Germany, France, Japan etc. start playing cricket, India will disappear from the world cricket map in no time (just recall what happened to hockey). Friends, let us all stop watching this mockery of a game called cricket and focus on real sports like athletics, aquatics, football etc. from now on. Let us all aim for REAL success in sports, e.g. in the Olympic Games where major world nations compete, and not be satisfied with fake success when we beat absolute non-entities like Bangladesh or Sri Lanka in cricket.
It is high time that BCCI is brought under the control of the Ministry of Sports. There is huge money involved and some sort of a government control is a must so that this organisation becomes accountable to the public as public money is involved. Then they will become accountable and people can use RTI to get the secrecy weil removed.
