devil's advrajdeep sardesai, karan thapar, srinivasan and karthik
by raman govindan on May 20, 2013 08:10 PM

karthik presented a clear picture of the significance of the scam better than Srinivasan. he is no media savy professional! srinivasan indicated and told the fact that he is not so articulate like his interviewers.

still karan thapar was shouting and initimidating srinivasam to put his words in srinivasanls mouth! a very bad example for how not to conduct an interview.

Cricket, when it was Gentlemen's game did not have Anti-Corruption unit. Having ACSU in itself admittance of corruption. So mcuh of foreing exchange comes under BCCI's purview and is managed by a group of crooks - how many of the BCCI officials have played cricket? I don't mean book cricket. Its a shame that body is taken over by a well-organized business-politicians nexus and is firmly supported by the regional bodies that is also run by the hand-picked goons of business-poltician nexus. Only God can save Indian cricket.

why, rest of the country uses the name and flag where there is rampant corruption.
At least in this case people can react by not purchasing the tickets, but will they ?
Its like people are ready to flash a currency note instead of the driving license when they are stopped by a traffic cop. That's the priority that people give to rules and ethics in this country.
So why should it be any different for BCCI ?

IPL cricket is pure entertainment
by Jagdish Dubey on May 20, 2013 06:57 PM

It must be taxed accordingly. IPL is not promoting the game but all that is not gentlemen's game- cheer leaders, betting etc. It should be taxed heavily- on ticket, media's ad revenue, payment to players and income to BCCI should be taxed as in any other business. What is Flared nostrils doing there.

"RTI isn't going to stop spot-fixing"

is it because BCCI itself is involved.

Correct. Y is Gavaskar silent, because Rohan was actively involved in organising all post-match IPL parties, where he invited all the bookies he wanted, to have deals wit players

do indian mangoes clap fr private bodies when national teams r playing with other nation. Do this private body hasn't an obligation to represent Indian cricket ever in Asian or Commonwealth games for a sure-shot medal event. Even Bangladesh is winning gold medal in cricket in asian games, where this private body known as bcci refused to send a contigent of any 11 players among 1.1 billion indians. who had given them this much rights Mr Pawar?

The Speculation is, the BCCI president is leading the nation to the Garden path. After the heat and Dust Settles down and when the Media shifts its glare elesewhere in search of New scoops and sensations, the BCCI chief and Delhi police will face political pressures from the states to which the tainted players belong to(Sreesshant telling police after his arrest that he knows the CM of his state) and the whole matter will get a neat burial.
BCCI chief in press conference admits that in IPL6, Bookies are not under its control, thereby indirectly conceeding that in all other previous IPLs the bookies were under its control and they could keep a tight Lid on the can of worms.

BCCI President says that just becoz of few rotten apples IPL's image is intact. The only way to give a neat Burial to IPL T20 is to boycott the IPL6 by public not going to stadium and waste their Money and Time.
