it was the same team which whitewashed us in aus
by Sunil Vaidya on Mar 28, 2013 09:33 AM  | Hide replies

which got whitewashed in india...

it was nearly the same team which whitewashed us 0-4 in aus which we have whitewasehed 4-0 now in india....that team also consisted of cowans warner clarke siddle pattinson lyon starc etc so if this team is not test standard how did we lose to the same team 0-4 in aus? how did that same team which whitewashed us in aus got itself whitewashed in india? true ponting and hussey were not there but let me remind you they both had come on previous 2 tours where dhoni's team had beaten them 2-0, 2-0 also...so far dhoni has captained 8 tests against aus (4 times ponting captain 4 times clarke captain) in india and we won all 8 tests...

so it is silly to say we whitewashed a weak team. Just take a look at the stats of this team. take away these 4 losses and the same team has a very good test record (though of course most of their matches were played in aus (i.e at home, hahaha:)

so it is no good saying ponting and hussey were not in the team. they were there in the previous 4 tests in india and the result? the same 4-0 in india's favour...(hahaha...though the captain those 4 times was ponting)

Yes , what ur saying is true.

But one of the main points, to look here is Dhoni's captaincy has not been that good. India won bcoz of mainly good performances.
He has a defensive mindset. The 3rd test for example, where they had to chase to 140 runs in nearly 40 overs and required 45 runs in the final 15 overs, and Dhoni was afraid that they were going to lose the match. SO u have nearly 15 overs remaining and 7 wkts in hand , u need runs at the rate of 3 per over. Still u think that u will lose the match. Yes collapses have happened in cricket. But it is the case due to batsmen folly, and bowlers extreme bowling. But this has been in few instances. So u have the match totally in ur hand, and it is not high presurre, still he was comitting blunder by being extra cautious in the end stages, by eating up the deliveries. India was able to remove pressure only after Jadeja came in hit some 4s. Then Dhoni hit final 3 boundaries and India won.

I trying to point out the negative tactics used by Dhoni in the 3rd match, where India could have easily won the match without any pressure.

India needs fast bowlers and batsmen strong enough to play outsid
by Talisman on Mar 28, 2013 04:08 AM

India needs atleast two fast bowlers and batsme3n equipped to taken on guys like James Anderson and Steyn in their own home ground.

Today, they have neither. This article is a laugh. This team will be tested by pitches outside india. If they survive and Dhoni
scores 200 in SA or Dhawan makes a 100, we can say, we have a good team with the addition of a few good fast bowlers.

This indian team is a substandard team that does not have the mettle to taken on and play against the other top teams in their grounds and come out successfully. Quality is missing, really - except perhaps Pujara, Sachin and possibly Sewag.

Dhoni has built a team from ashes
by Gurjot Singh on Mar 28, 2013 03:53 AM

This team is better than any other teams we have seen in the past. This team is far far better than any team ever assembled by any country. This being a young team, we will dominate test, ODI and T20 for next decade.

If being in 22nd position feels good, we all know about your standards.

As for as talking about batting, when you compare Sachin with someone like Dhoni, you really have to go back to school to get educated on cricket. How can you compare God Sachin with a pauper Dhoni - who struggles to score overseas?

Dhoni should Step Down
by DEBABRATA DEY on Mar 27, 2013 03:30 PM  | Hide replies

This is the right time. Dhoni should step down as Captain with high head and flying colours. Otherwise, humiliation and ouster is a must after SA, NZ and England tour starting October this year. A massive 11-0 defeat is on the card in the forthcoming 11 test matches in foreign soil as a visitor.

It will be unwise to conclude that Dhoni built young brigade. What happened with other young brigade grooming stars like Rohit Sharma, Badrinath, Umesh Jadav, Vinay Kumar, R P Singh, Sreesanth who nurtured under Dhoni’s umbrella?

We all know Dhoni and his Team India suffered consecutive 4-0 4-0 drubbing in England followed by Australia as a visitor. Then, as a host, he also suffered 2-1 drubbing in turning home soil track by England. Thereafter, fortunately, he and his young Team India has recently enjoyed thumping 4-0 victory against Australia (a team appears to be weaker than Bangladesh) in turning home soil track as a host. Now, Dhoni admirers are cursing Mohinder Amarnath who vehemently recommended Dhoni ouster as captain. Impulsive Srinivasan is claiming that he is the man who reversed the ouster of Dhoni recommended by the then Selection Committee headed by Srikant.

The defeat makers are all gone or thrown out. So 4-0, 4-0 also is consigned to history. With batsman ready to go down to 29 for 5 (as at Kolkat , apart from whatever they did in England and Australia) you do not not need rocket science to understand the chemistry of 4-0, 4-0. And not to forget Zaheer for his sterling contribution to 4-0, 4-0.

True, Dhoni must indeed step down lest his records send our dear Dada beyond the pale of memory and render his irrelevant.
