All his statements are mis-leading...... 1. Why always RAHANE & TIWARI were made to sit(drink boyz) inspite of their repeated good performances where as Jadeja,Rohit gets opportunity inspite of LONG LONG FAILURES. 2. OHJA is the highest ranked bowler in TOP-10, still he was made to sit for Jadeja 3. Yuvraj was dropped in middle of ENGLAND series to include Rjadeja - if you play Yuvraj as bowling al-rounder in the team that will ease pressure on him and any way he will bat far far better than Jadeja 4. TIWARI was made to sit for 5-6 series in ROW for ROHIT who was terribly out of form

Rahane's record in international cricket in any form does not match his hype...
Dhoni finds reasons to include Jadeja (T20 specialist)in every form of game...not even in single format he proved to be IMPACT player..except few odd wickets......Jadeja & Yuvraj bowls with SIMILAR technique and YUVRAJ against ENGLAND in warm-up match got 5 wicket haul where all INDIAN bowlers struggled to take wickets against the same team........and OUT-OF-FORM Yuvraj is far better batsman than RJadeja on any given day.....YUVRAJ has already proven ability to WIN matches single handedly(won the world-cups).....Yuvraj has always got RAW deal in test cricket
Re: Is Jadeja required in every format?? Isnt this stupidity????

i agree. but yuv was dropped for non-performances in tests n when ind was down agaisnt eng. n jadeja has performed very well in domestic circuit scoring 2 triple tons. cant b ignored such play.

Gambhir has an avg of 20 in the last 20 innings..and Jaffer failed at international level for nearly 40 tests and when he was much younger.
Only a few months back Gautam Gambhir had said that Shewag and himself were still the best opening pair the country had...Well the selectors feel otherwise as both have been shown the door...They have done a wonderful job as openers and none can take away that...They probably have a lot of cricket left in them but in todays scenario the mantra should be "PERFORM OR PERSISH" as everyone earns a lot of money and a long underperformance should never be encouraged...It will also be good for Rahane and Dhawan as there is SA tour later this year...Though I have my doubts on some of the current crop of performing in SA and Australia or for the mattter in England.
the selection criteria cant be uniform for all the players. for ex, a criteria for tendulkar and sehwag cant be the same for murali vijay and pujara. that is, if sachin bats, the minimum we expect is 2-3 centuries in a 4 or 5 test series. same is teh case with viru. for murali and pujara, minimum is a fifty in every match..so, viru has failed by miles. in one way, even tendlia is a failure. after reaching his tons of ton, he lost his apatite for big scores. after this series, tendlia should gracefully quit the test matches once for all..
Selection committee will be wasting careers of exceptionally talented Wasim Jaffer and Rahane. I have got no words for politics to get in to the Indian team. What a waste. Wasim Jaffer scored very well probably best in Domestic season and Rahane has proved himself to be good batsman.

I agree with the view that Rahaane should be there playing as he is a future investment especially under tough conditions like South Africa. Instead of Jaffer who is fairly senior and Murali Vijay who thrives only on placid conditions, other youngsters like Dhawan, Manoj Tiwari should be given a chance.

Except for Dravid, Tendu in his prime and VVS Vs Aus, no one in recent past has done well in any condition except placid ones. Rahane has to be groomed a bit more, he gets very nervous and throws his wickets. Dhavan, Vijay are fairly young.

Unfortunately, Rahane's performance at international level hasn't matched his hype, leave alone his domestic scores. Jaffer too didn't make the cut in 40 tests when he was much younger.

Just as most of the Ausie failing here....You have to play according to your strengths...Make the most of HOme advantage..That,s the way to go about it..
