Evedn kids knows how we won last 2 games, as usual winning in India is not a great archivenemt, but he had lot of records, 8 test match lost ina a row, first Indian team lost in India(opponenet has more quality spinners).. last two test Our fast bowlesrs were in rest .. why they are slecetd ??when we will make qulity pitch instead of this spin track??why we can't win in sporty wickect?
BEST batsman & bowler can be judged by no of runs scored and wickets taken but BEST captain can not be judged on WIN/LOSS RATIO alone.....please evaluate below facts and if any DHONI supports can give few instances of DHONI's leadership which has longer impact are welcome

How many people know that DADA after taking over captaincy used to watch Ranji matches from stands travelling across INDIA to SPOT & TAP the TALENT......please google you will find truth.....ZKhan,Yraj,Hjan,Swag,Dhoni are watched by DADA and later pushed for selection into INDIAN team otherwise it would have taken more time for these players to break into NATIONAL TEAM
2. How many people know that GANGULY addressed INDIA's long-term issue of quality OPENERS which is instrumental in INDIA's ROAD TO NO.1 in TESTS...sehwag was forced to open assuring him of his place even he fails
3. How many people know DADA has addressed INDIA's long-term issue of quality WK-Batsman by forcing DRAVID to keep wickets - Not many understand then dravid was struggling to be part of ODI's for his slow scoring rate, by converting him as KEEPER he assured DRAVID of his place in TEAM as keeper so now it settled DRAVID as well and only later on established himself in ODI format
4. How many people know Hbajan has finger injury and was out of team for 1-2 years approximately - Hbajan in an interview told that during this time DADA used to call him regulary and enquire about his recovery and assured him of his

How many people know it was only during GANGULY's term as captain there were no regional selections as DADA with strong backing of DALMIYA used to pick his team only on MERIT & SPECIAL TALENTS if you do not agree then see the list of players who debuted under his captaincy....before & after ganguly REGIONAL POLITICS always play bigger role... 6. A captain is only as good as the team, whether its Kapil, Ganguly or Dhoni. How much ever you twist and turn it, Dhoni became the most successful captain in Indian cricket when India won this last test match.

In India, too much emphasis is given on captain and coach. Actually it is the team which wins matches and not a captain and coach.

u don't need to twist or turn anything to decide he ain't best "ever"indian captain..he ate the mango when it was rip..well established team u really need a robot...but to start with scratch is something difficult..kapil paji showed underdogs can win...ganguly with few big names established inidan cricket ...then comes dhobi..so no twists and turns..simple

Joe: You need to unerstand the basic difference between BEST CAPTAIN & SUCCESSFUL CAPTAIN...if you say dhoni is best tell few few example similar to what i have highlighted about DADA....DHONI is doing good by staying grounded and carring well but Can not see any fururistic moves in him which would benifit INDIA in long term
Seems everybody has forgotten that Dhoni has won most his series at home. He is the only one captain who has 2 back to back whitewashes under his name. Also he lost a series against Eng at home in 28 years. And still he is best. Wah-Re-Wah-India.

Dhoni from DAY one as captain has established batting order SEHWAG,GAMBHIR, DRAVID,SACHIN,DADA,LAXMAN,DHONI,Hbajan,ZKhan,just budding Ipathan, Isharma.....Test No.1 is not like W-cup where few players play out of skin and you become NO.1...team has to be built over the years and players need to mature over period of time (2-4 years)...dhoni took over and less than 2 years we became NO.1 and stayed in NO.1 for longer period in recent times

I agree completely. Dhoni was pure lucky that he got a well established team and also 90% of the series in the first three years were in the sub-continent pitches, where we are tigers.

dhoni is already a legend of indian cricket...and arguably the greatest allround personality to play cricket for india - from all aspects - calmness, leadership, performance, keeping, batting, fitness,agility, smart thinking, style....i don't think any other indian cricketer has such a complete personality as a cricketer-...almost a perfect cricketer

Agreed for most of the things you highlighted about DHONI, he is the best one to LEAD the INDIAN TEAM but not the BEST INDIAN CAPTAIN EVER.......He is just instinctive captain.. Tell me one inspirational move by DHONI which benifited INDIAN cricket....if you point out the world cup victories then KAPIL DEV is bigger than DHONI because INDIA is a minnow before 1983 W-cup, he single handedly WON the MUST WIN match against ZIMBABWE (170 runs) otherwise we would have been out of tournament.....DHONI already have LEGENDARY PLAYERS & SUPERSTARS like YUVRAJ by the day he took over the captaincy

in Australia, England and South Africa. Not on good sporting wickets..., but on specially made 'doctored' pitches favoring the home team i.e, on green tops - just like those which the New Zealanders prepared when the Indians toured that country in 2001-'02. I would love to see the Vijays, Pujaras, Kohlis, Ashwins and Jadejas and last but not the least our captain cool, bat/bowl on those wickets.. Before you get any wrong ideas...I am trying to find some justification for preparing dust bowls when a team form outside the subcontinent tours India.. Peace and cheers..!!

Why can't we say the Australian and England Pitches are also doctored for pace attack (beacuse that is their strength). Moreover, in Hyderabad Bhubhaneswar had taken first three wickets!

You can say that.....But the problem is that you can say that just for the sake of saying...!!! Nothing else. Nowhere else in the cricketing world we would see the pitch crumbling even before lunch on day one..
