Most of the wins by ganguly are on weaker teams such as Zimbabwe & Bangladesh (around 11 wins). Whereas most of the wins by MSD are on the toughest team, only 3 wins are over the weaker team. This should be considered while comparing.

Please check your data. Dhoni most wins are in India where the pitch is made as per Indian bowling strengths. Ganguly's most wins are in foreogn soil.

Ganguly is could have done better but because of his arrogant and style could not sustain his game ...leadership.
If he builds a team which can carry the success for long time after his departure. When DHONI started captaining he already in-herited good team from DADA>DRAVID>KUMBLE with ready made LEGENDS & SUPERSTARS
what people claim about fluke T20 W-cup (only due to Yuvraj's individual brillience). Its heartnening to see people ignore the conditions when DADA & DHONI became captains.... DADA: Though people say he had LEGENDS playing along with him, I am not sure why the same team under other captains was on LOOSING STREAK and INDIAN cricket is rocking at the bottom due to match fixings
Dhoni: The same LEGENDS(SACHIN,DRAVID,LAXMAN & DADA...except kumble) under DADA continued with already established SUPERSTARS who can singled handedly take game away from opposition(YUVRAJ, SEHWAG, ZKHAN,HBAJAN) are at peak of their powers and these players are instrumental in our great vicories.............
DHONI can only stake claim to be BEST CAPTAIN OF INDIA if re-builds this current INDIAN team and achieve & retain TEST NO.1 for atleast 2 years and A TEAM even after his departure continues success into future

Same is the case with R ponting he inherited LEGENDARY TEAM from M TAYLOR > S WAUGH and i these two above R PONTING...

what makes u believe Indian's are going to do well in overseas tour?? they will again come put, once Indian team is thrashed. So have patience & keep watching
He brought us ODI world championship, he led us to victory to WC in front of home crowd after our abysmal performance in the previous WC in West Indies. He guided us to the number one ranking in test. Then everything fell apart. We lost all our super stars except SRT. We were never a power house of bowling except in spin. With no bowling and depleted batting and some bad luck we were swept when we visited England. We hit the bottom when we toured Australia. We lost the series against England at home because of lack of decent bowling. Then we turned around in matter of few months. This is beyond wildest imagination. This has been possible because of Dhoni. He has then most brilliant cricketing mind in the history if the world. Measure of true greatness is in how you pick yourself up and get back on your feet. MS Dhoni has passed that test with flying color. He is the best any team ever had.

Oh oh oh Gurjot this to toooooo much buddy a WIN against AUS who are equivalent to BEST ZIMBABWA side (2 FLOWER brothers, CAMPBELL's & RAY PRICE)...you are rejoicing this....oh you seem to be GAJANI man this the same team and same captain who lost badly against quality ENG (HOME & AWAY), decent AUS (in AUS), we also struggled against B-grade PAKISTAN TEAM

because in his career of just 7-8 years so far, dhoni has soaked even more pressure than sachin did for 23 years...
