Re: he looks like uncle already...!!

because in his career of just 7-8 years so far, dhoni has soaked even more pressure than sachin did for 23 years...
Comic heroics, below par athletic abilities, very poor fielding and catching skills, himself dropping so many catches in the slips while shouting at others for missing out on faint chances as if others are subservient, record of poor calling and getting the partner run out, carrying the shame of weakness against rising ball all through the career.. the list is too long and should not be repeated too often. Anyway he had contributed to best of his abilities and I respect him for that. Comparing him with someone who has taken the bull by its horns, tamed rowdies, showed rightful place to the fading stars with bloated egos is outright foolish. As someone rightly pointed out , india is just too lucky to have him at the helm of affairs.

bad observation by observer! Seems to be born yesterday with no prior knowledger about history of Indian cricket.
Although Ganguly is to be credited for the turnaround in the team's attitude, he also had a better team of batsmen (Tendu, Dravid,VVS and himself) and bowlers (Srinath, Kumble, Zaheer, Bhajji). Dhoni has 22 wins out of which 3 came outside subcontinent (2 SA, 1 WI) while 8 defeats were in SA(1), Aus(3) and Eng (4). While Ganguly out of 21 wins had 3 outside 1 each in Eng, WI, Aus and 4 loses outside subcontinent (1 SA, 2 WI, 1 Eng). The last two Eng, Aus series have been bad for Dhoni but win wise they are the same. With a more assertive Dhoni now and the team settling after the exit of big guns, it will only get better.

You dont understand. Indians have graduated from a just strong side at home to a side that crushes the opposition mercilessly. I think both bowling and batting have not let up the pressure on the opposition one bit. That is a key difference between the current side and the earlier ones. And it augurs well. If they lose abroad so be it, but they may put up a fight or two atleast.

mention home because, we lost only 5 games at home in 90s. however, on the flipside we won only 1 game abroad during that period

Legends exist because of not so easy availability, else in a media frenzied world of want for attention, all gets washed away easily
