all are talking about lara , sachin, ponting but in my view best batsmen in world crickety is kallis.He is always underrated.. look at his records we will come to know who is best in world
its Lara Lara and Lara, without any doubt. who socred most centuries in 2nd innings its Lara 17. who has the maximum innings in wisden greatest innings yeh its is lara 6 innings. his inning of153* has been ranked the 2nd best world has ever seen. he is super human on the other hand tendulkar has nil innings not even in top 100 innings. Tendulkar playsfor record and advertisment. so bow downto Sir Brain Charles Lara kya hai Mara!!!!!!!

shania, then why he doesnt have any innings in wisden best innings WHY????? even Dravid has, vvs laxman has, sehwag has but no sachin.it proves that he just plays for record. Last time I have seen him scaring from Monty panser a club level bowler. really pathtic
One or two devastating innings have been played by innumerable no. of players from all countries but a true champion is what is rare.
Why ponting is so obsessed with winning tests? What about the tests which India could have lost had not Tendulkar scored a century? For ponting it is easy to concentrate on winning matches as Australia was having 5-6 all time greats playing together who could win a match alone. The difference could be understood if you see the loss % of west indies. It was because lara might have played some awesome innings and won matches(still the no. is less) but could not perform at the consistent level that tendulkar managed and thereby drawn many tests which could have been lost anyway! that is creditable is't it?
Statistics wont justify any player's efforts in a game correctly, if his team has lost it due to failure of others, inspite of the player's good performance. In comparing Sachin's performance with Lara, in winning matches, you must compare performances of our ballers vs Windies ballers in taking wickets. - Is there any comparison? How many times we have lost because we could not restrict opposition batsmen from scoring, due to poor balling? - when Sachin had fared well?
Lastly - Aussies have habit of making such statements before start of any team's tour & Ponting is NO EXCEPTION. Ponting has reason to be unhappy with Sachin, since he could not break Sachin's records, in spite of several efforts. LARA & SACHIN both are great players, with different styles & hence can not be compared.
Yes, Absolutely lara is better then sachin. sachin knows how to play for himself. but lara always with team, i.e. how to team go upper and he also built great innings indivisually, but if sachins sachin makes 100, i.e. not sufficient for team. for winning a team team make a big impact. That also make Rahul Dravid for India.

that is the same for sachin....you see him struggling againts moving good lenght deliveries......he never won his duel against the likes of Mcgrath, Fanie DeVilliers, Abdul Razzaq, James Anderson, Chaminda Vaas.

lara is always tro sachin as till his retirement he could demolish bowlers & command .sachin oher than his prime days has never dominated bowlers & was never a threat.sachin is always for records even at the cost of team,but lara was never
