There were many cricketers who changed the way Indians played cricket. BS Chandrashekar, Anil Kumble, Gavasker. GR Vishwanath, dravid, kapil dev....But with the arrival of Tendulkar even common man who knew very little about cricket took interest in the game.. Every mother wanted his son to play cricket.. they started carrying their young ones to cricket camps... Sachion is greatest cricketer.. no one else has created this kind of frenzy in any game...

Sachin has always played for his own records,India wins did not matter for him.Lara was a devastating batsman when compared to Sachin.

Possibly what Ponting means was that SRT sliced Aussies like a butter knife so they didn't feel the pain, whereas Lara butchered them whenever he did. In essence both enjoyed played Aussies.

Stats? Sachin does not even have one triple century - all the other batsmen in this greatest list have one. So he is disqualified there itself

Sachin facing fiery fat bowlers ??u must be kidding then what about gavaskar fishy who faced the fearsome quadret? Today's fast bowlers are nothing compared to the quadret....gcheck ur facts!!
Rahul Dravid has the same winning percentage as sachin but if u see in detail Dravid has won matches almost single handedly and also on foreign Soil...Dravid is better than both
Yes, Lara is better than Tendulkar. I would even rate some other Indian batsman better than Tendulkar. They have won matches, Tendulkar only played for records and mostly failed to perform in decider and important matches. He is a highly overrated player and the hype is created by media. Still there are people who want him to score a hundred and they don't mind if India loose. Selfish player anly has selfish fan following.

It is better to agree that Tendulkar, when we say batsman is best not better. Best in the History of Cricket. Win is team work not any individual performance. We should be very clear there are many Good batsman in this world but when we say best it is indeed Tendulkar. Ricky is good batsman with aggressive nature of Leading. But he could cheat for winning that was aggressive nature. Lara is good batsman But not best.

Best should be technically and mentally strong. Tendulkar always collapsed under pressure, he may have the technique but you should be able to deliver in crunch situations. Lara had that frame of mind and mental strength. Tendulkar could not even lead the country which means he could not even decide on team strategies. Tendulkar is for himself and I can say that he was the best when there was no pressure. But what matters is how you win and you need to play accordingly. Handling pressuire situations is part of the game and you cannot annalyse on technique only.

He will always be the.
1. Most feared player by the Selectors (No one can drop him even if want to play now in any format of the game). 2. Most sought after sportsman for Commercials over the years. 3. Best creation of the media. 4. Longest surviving sportsman at the international level (he knows the secrets to survive at the highest level). 5. Only sportsman who could be a Member of Parliament simultaneoulsy (Impossible for others). 6. Sportsman who could sell his gifts (Ferrari) no one will dare. 7. Can continue playing for the country to please his sponsors and challenge the selectors to drop him from the team. 8. Can slow down the pace of scoring when he is in nintees to score a century (no matter what the situation is).

I think you don't have a clear picture on what is INDIAN team before sachin came and after sachin came.
India has only 2 wins in england, 4 wins in australia from 1934 to 1992.
58 years and 6 wins.
Our indian batting used to collapse once he is out. He used to carry the whole load of batting.
His total runs in comparison of the entire team runs is almost 39%.
you mean to say 1 man scores 39 runs and others don't score 61 runs is not a right thing.
you are still ok with 10 players not scoring 61 but you are not ok with one sachin scoring 39.
Better don't comment on some one whom you don't know much. iam not a sachin fan but iam sorry to say that you are not a right person to comment on any one. because your comments are baseless.
Wisden's published their top 100 Test Cricket innings featuring all time great innings till 2011. None of Sachin Tendulkar innings have found a place in the top 100 as Wisden believes that the star batsman had not yet scored an innings that merits his inclusion in the famed list. 13 Indians have made it into the top 100. They are highlighted in light green.
Lara has got 1st, 25th and 60th ranks in the list.
there is no direct comparison between these two legends bcoz their playing strategy is very diffent and lara is more aggresive in batting than sachin but if the question is about technique then undoubly sachin is little forward.and if the question is about hitting then lara is best...............!

When ever we say batsman then it is Technique or complete package not heater, defensive or etc
