In test Sachin MOM 14 occasion in 198 matches. Lara MOM 12 occasion in 131 matches.

You get MOMs for drawn matches also. And as for ODIs, i'm sure he has a lot of MOMs against Kenya, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Ireland, Namibia, UAE etc.
And how can Sachin kick him out from MI, he's not a captain (remember how he sucks at it?) Hey wait, the grand old man has retired from the IPL so can he possibly throw him out? Oh you mean by playing politics, like he always did?

the problem with people like you is that, you look only at the building and appreciate its gigantic strength, but forget the very fact that the basement of the builing is what it takes it to shine that way. Sachin is the basement, Dhoni is the building.

Why don't u accept facts and grow up? Lara is clear match winner, that is why he is regarded as the BEST
till now, i was to rate ponting along side tendlia and lara. but with this comment, he has shown that he is a brainless human inspite of being a good cricketer. in terms of runs scored in both the forms and longevity, lara and sachin are almost the same, some 2 thousand runs difference between them in tests can be discarded for the sake of comparison. but the only striking difference between sachin and lara is the way sachin carries the sheer weight of expectations of billions of fans when ever he steps into the field. i dont think if lara or even bradman carried that much expectations every time they go out to bat, they would have failed miserably. even the great lara and richards admitted that sachin is the best. these sick minded aussies never want to acknowledge an indian's growth in an sector. with this comment, ponting has jeopardised his chances for getting into IPL for MI. anyways, no one would be interested to consider this retired chap.
This guy, despite being a spent force long ago, was still given a chance to play for mumbai indians and captain them. ANd as expected he failed miserably. And we dont need to remind of his various bump call claims and refusal to walk etc. Tendulkar has a better 4th innings record(check cricinfo for prrof), so its clearly jealousy that ponting is saying all this

sandeep kumar the 4th innings difference is not all that match lara averages 35.12 runs in 4th innings and sachin averages a couple of runs more in 4th innings but if 4th innings is all that matters to you then ponting averages 50 plus runs in 4th innings making him the better batsman than both sachin and lara....

i completely agree with both of you guys. These Aussie are hypocrites. They just want cheap fame. Few years back hayden wrote something weird in his book. Warne also made spilt statement,once he had mentioned Sachin causes nightmare for him and later on he Said he is not scared of Sachin.. Pointing belongs to same breed. Ultimately they cant watch Aussie cricket ongoing turmoil and within team conflicts and fights. Overall they just want to stay in lime light ,gain cheap publicity and may be there to paying to media for drawing attention of world towards them .
I distinctly remember when Lara made 400 Ponting went at great lengths to talk to the press and SPECIFICALLY mention that Lara was selfish to let a draw occur for his 400. When a reporter asked him who he rated higher - Lara or Sachin, I can never forget his words when he said "For me, Sachin is always ahead of Lara".
Its amazing how he has completely changed his opinion within a few years. Perhaps it was just jealousy back then, he couldn't digest Lara's 400. Or maybe it is his jealousy toward India's usurping of Australia's numero uno status that made him rate Sachin lower.
Either ways, he has proved that his word counts for nothing in the long-term. I may watch him bat or lead, but I wouldn't take him with me for an arbitration dispute resolution. Can't trust the guy.

This is absolutely true, sachin is a legend, but he was�nt match winning player like lara aur now like dhoni, this is the truth and u have to accept it.

Hmm, looks like you have started watching cricket in last 5 years only. Else Sachin used to be the only winner for india for around a decadate, mostly in Azhar's captaincy time

by that time the difference will be much greater mr navin...dhoni has achieved in 7-8 yrs. what sachin could not achieve in 20 yrs! If dhoni plays for 20 yrs. try and imagine how much ahead dhoni will be of sachin (he is already ahead of sachin in many aspects)
