gavaskar is holding IPL responsible bcos his mumbai team has failed in the league. our CSK team has rocked all IPLs by reaching finals on all occassions. even this time CSK will win.
btw if gavaskar is having issue with IPL why dont he stop giving commentry in IPL

I support CSK but Indian team is more important than IPL. I hate to see Indian team loosing badly in test series but an IPL team i support is winning.
India comes first before regional feelings!

I have stopped following cricket since IPL launch.
by Ravi on Jan 04, 2013 11:27 PM  | Hide replies

But then I don't blame anyone. I just lost interest in this one sided affair.

IPL is just a green market for the gamblers and sponsorers. Its not meant for cricket lovers actually.

I sometimes follow few South Africa teams games. They still have immense talent.

Trust me, this is not rocket science. I don't blame the current players choosing the IPL over national duty. Gavaskar and Imran can't understand the lure of IPL as compared to the Test cricket. People talking about national pride and duty are still living in an dreamworld.

Something is seriously wrong with the trend when there is a strong imbalance between the bat and the ball in any form of cricket. Simple.

Every sane sportsman has the right to make maximum money while playing. Better late than never.

Surely, people like Gambhir and Sehwag are living in what you called a'Dream World'.

Numerous players from Australia and England put their National responsibility above IPL and their local T20 leagues. And so obvious that these players are not aware of your Dream World and still take National Pride and duty more seriously..

You must be giving pat to sunil gavaskar for opening the pandora box of IPL. I really dont understand indian people who always bash anyone. This year Gavaskar openly criticising Tendulkar but cant say it openly that now time is up. Gavaskar made bold comments knowing he was IPL Committee head at one time. This Ravi Shastri a third grade player who use to bore during his days always talk where money is like backing tendulkar during wrong move and praising IPL. One more agent supports nobody he us just the agent of commerce and money Rajiv Shukla are responsible for this

Poor batting technique
by Arv Singh on Jan 04, 2013 11:12 PM

I heard Gavaskar's frustration with the batting technique of Indian batsmen during live commentary. He is absolutely Right!!! We were coached to defend with straight bat and pad together. Indian greats like Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Dravid, and VVS were masters of this technique.

Current batsmen have forgotten the basics and try to swing their bats across the line of the ball. I think this is due to them playing too many shorter forms of games like T20 where a straight stop give a dot ball while a soft swing across the line may yield a single.

In last two series, Indian batsmen were all making the same mistake and missed the ball as it was swinging in air or spun off the pitch.

Its the job of the coach to identify these technical issues and fix them. Duncan Fletcher has been a big disappointment and tends to be meek allowing Dhoni to make his decisions. Dhoni on the other hand lacks deep knowledge of Cricket such as how to read a pitch, select best line-up for the game, field placements, and bowling changes. His poor leadership which stems from his lack of cricketing knowledge and favoritism for CSK and UP players is hurting the team.

India needs Gavaskar, Dravid, or VVS as batting coach, Venkatesh Prasad or Kumble as bowling coach, and Robin Singh as fielding coach.

I would also bring back Mohinder Amarnath as independent chief of selectors.

Gambhir and Sehwag are the biggest disappointments. They both were unfit and comes IPL< they both were ready to play.

Gavaskar is referring to them in his comments..

The slump is natural
by Gurjot Singh on Jan 04, 2013 10:56 PM  | Hide replies

India achieved a lot. World championship in ODI, T20 and top ranking in test. We had it all in a very short period of time. Our lowest was in WC 2007. We recovered form that and we will recover from this too. Our main problem is retirement of great players like Dravid, VVS and SRT. Our bowling is kind of lightweight. However this was true to an extent even during our triumph. We have many many young batsmen in the team. We should cheerfully encourage everyone instead of castigating them. Also, we shlould show some gratefulness to Dhoni for leading us to the mountain top when we were the best in all forms of cricket -- test, ODI and T20.

How many of you come up to young players and give them tips? how many of you talk to the players who going through the lean patch? see pak team, their ex-cricketers giving them lot of advice and being supportive, how many of you travel with Indian team except your commendatory and money making profits? you guys have no rights to talk about others. how many of you come forward, i will take this role as coach? how many of you come forward and take a role as bowling coach? once winning the tournament adding ice on cake, when it goes wrong letting the ice to melt, and screaming why its melting want to cut someone's head. we had prasad/robin singh as coaches and went on winning.but they are removed, see how UP doing it now n ranji, venki is a coach. see how robin singh is wasted? in his career life and his coaching life.does anyone seen kapil came up to anyone and giving them tips? but they are legends.. shame on you guys,
