dropping gambhir was a wise move. but not including the dangerous and unpredictable sreesanth is not justified. bhuvneshwar is a rookie with little pace and ishant is recuperating with his injury. and by including ashwin inspite of poor form, means performance is not a criteria in selection. was expecting some new spinner from the ranjis to make his debut.

the last time i saw an offie spinning the ball consistently was rajesh chauhan. these days, in the name of variations, bhajji and ashwin are setting bad precedants for off spinners. kumbel didnt have talent in spin but he was accurate and wont try lots of variations.

Right, Gambhir has been dropped. But what about Sehwag's selection ? So that he scores one century and then 10 '0's ? At least Gambhir would have given us 30 runs per innings. Further what is the reason for selecting 4 openers for 2 tests (and that too omitting Jaffer) ? Only two could have been selected and given the chance for the 2 tests and if unsuccessful then straight away dropped. Also with due respect to Harbhajan he does not fit in Team India any more. Even in an out of form mode Ashwin needs to be carried for sometime because he is the future and so deserves more chances.
Sachin Tendulkar should have also been dropped/ that would have completed the selection and a new begining would have been made for injecting young blood in the team and reaching the top position in test cricket in next 2/3 years. abhay ekbote

Raina is useless Irfan should always be given preference over Raina in all formats simple reason is his record.
Sachin tendulkar should also have been dropped. that would have completed the process of moving forward and regaining higher test position in the next 5 years. abhay ekbote
Happy that the selectors have included the little master for tough challenge, Harbhajan have performed well in the Irani trophy match against Mumbai. I feel Suresh Raina deserves a place instead of out of form Virat Kohli. Dont know why the selectors have shown so much faith for Kohli and Ashwin who have done nothing special in the last few test series which India lost badly. Selectors need to be fair, there are lots of youngsters whom the selectors should give the chance instead of Kohli, Sehwag,Ashwin.
