Khudos to the selection team for dropping Ghambir who was just a passenger and liability for the team. With his experience, players like him shouldn't be content with securing their places with a mere, 30 or 40 listless runs which do not make any impact to the team's cause and this move would sure send the right signals to Viru too and he should either perform or perish! But, why Harbhajan? Isn't this a step in backward direction? Aren't there spinners to look to, beyond Harbhajan, Amit Mishra and Piyush? Ashwin if doesn't perform in these 2 tests, should be dumped once and for all as we need a bowler and not an allrounder. We already have one in Jadeja who too instead of being content with bots and pieces performances, should deliver more to hold on to his place. My team for the first 2 tests will be: Viru, Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Tendulkar, Jadeja, Dhoni, Ashwin, B.Kumar, Ishant & Ojha and these players should get to play the 2 tests to assess their utility and retained / discarded.

BUT when we will drop the biggest passenger and liability .... MS Dhoni... He doesn't have technique to play at test level

were is the run machine of indian domestic circuit wasim jaffer he should have been given last chance as many players have been givenafter not in from
Not sure till what time selectors are going to carry Dhoni... he is even worst than Ghambhir... Select Dinesh Kartik at his place he is better keeper and batsman
Selectors picking up Dinda what a joke? Instead why not ask Ganguly to come out of retirement and pick him for his bowling. Dinda's bowling is as good as Ganguly's bowling, but at least Ganguly will be good with the bat..

What about Shami Ahmed or Sreesanth.Shami was good in the one dayers. We require fast bowlers who bowl fast not a medium pacer like Dinda..

Dear Ravi, how can you say that dinda isnt a perfect selection ? Have you ever seen him bowling ? He is the best HIGH JUMPER at present in India. He would have won many golds in olympics if hadnt selected in cricket. We are blessed to have a highjumper like him :)
Aswhin , Dhoni do not deserve a place in test team . Ambati Rayudu , Manoj Tiwari and Harmeet Singh should have been tried . Unless Dhoni is in test team , it will continue to lose .He should be sacked from Test team .

Bilkul theek... Dhoni is worst test batsman.. not sure till what time we will have to carry him... he can only bat in IPL and ODIs
very poor selection.Aussies a strong team we should have retained experienced players like Gambir , Raina and alwways in form Jaffer. He has placed lot of county matches and he should be given chance.
Re: team selection
by ravi nagrani on Feb 10, 2013 02:54 PM
They could have picked up Jaffer since he is in good form, but I guess because of his age he was not considered cos they think he won't be here for long.
Happy that the selectors have included the little master for tough challenge, Harbhajan have performed well in the Irani trophy match against Mumbai. I feel Suresh Raina deserves a place instead of out of form Virat Kohli. Dont know why the selectors have shown so much faith for Kohli and Ashwin who have done nothing special in the last few test series which India lost badly. Selectors need to be fair, there are lots of youngsters whom the selectors should give the chance instead of Kohli, Sehwag,Ashwin.

True... dhoni is a politician
We should sack him from Test team and make him PM candidate... I'm sure he can be India's PM in 2014... he is better than Modi/ Manmohan.. and see his name is also start with M.. mahinder
Wasim Jaffer and Sami Ahmed should hv been there in the side. I think Dhoni has some personal problem with talented pacer Sami Ahmed. He rarely gives him any credit.

Wasim got a lot of chances all his dismissals were tame whenever he got a chance its disappointing to see him play when he got chances but its more disappointing for him not to get chances these are the ways of indian cricket

Expected that Kerala pacer Sreesanth will find a place in the team. Though he was not among wickets, his performance in Irani Trophy was notable for a posible test recall.
i dont understand why should selector not included dhawal kulkarni? instead of ashok dinda who never seen in form, before expect one that perticular match. dhawal is getting wicket regularly. i really like his space.otherside we have obeserved dinda beaten by pakis & enland batsman in every format of cricket.i think dinda have got many chances need to have chance player like dhawal kulkarni who is real perform in bowling nowadays. i request try to justice to dhawal in next selection meeting.

High jumper, that's so funny.. ya let's send him to Olympics. Seriously the kind of run up he has it seems as if he is the fastest bowler in the world and then the batsman waits for the bowl to reach :-)

dhawal is a hard working player with ordinary talent , but we indians are not happy with hardworking people we want players like sehwag , dhoni stand and deliver one man show
Re: Re: Dinda not a perfect selection
by moahmmed on Feb 10, 2013 02:55 PM
agree, why sehwag is not drop. Gamber is much beetter then other selected players
Ashwin's presence will put unnecessary pressure on talented Harbhajan Singh. Harbhajan needs breathing space from selectors to perform well at the international level.

need to recognise & develop our face strenght as we are becoming poor to play against spin& using spin to make rival team poor by our spin.that we observed recent pak, england tour.we were toataly fail against there spin.

Well said.. but till than we have nexus of India cement in the team they will keep playing CSK players for India.... and take indian cricket to low
