bat first
by mohammed akhter on Dec 07, 2013 06:30 PM  | Hide replies

win the toss and bat first.pakistan won 2 matches batting first.evening under lights ball tends to move a lot, making difficult for batsmen to score.evev SA could not score 2oo to win in one of the matches.
certainly india needs to improve its bowling.most of the batting sides in world would fail underlights in sa.

To defend totals, you need to have good bowling in the death. It is a very long time since i saw that in Indian cricket..

PLUG THE GAPING HOLE IN THE MIDDLE ORDER
by damodaran mohan on Dec 07, 2013 03:36 PM

India losing should not come as a surprise although the margin of defeat was too big for any one to expect. In the current SA series India is a better Test team but a weaker One day side and adding to absence of any practice match the troubles only compounded. The inexperience of out bowlers showed but even if they had bowled better, India winning was very difficult once the top 3 failed in a line up with a gaping hole in the middle order. Virtually three batters, Yuvi,Raina and Jadeja are just adding another 20 odd runs !Even if top 3 fire and say the score is 200/3, it will jump to 225/6 in couple of overs with Dhoni and Ashwin to stabilize. Against a wek WI side they might have managed with top 3 firing but against the best bowling side of SA it is next to impossible. So unless the middle order is strengthened by bringing Rahane, Rayudu etc. team India has no hope. In one dayers. In the long run up to 2015 however a solid bat like Pujara is must in the side to fill the gaping hole in the middle order.Cpming to the pace attack Md. Shami bowled alright although B/Kumar was off-colour.Mohit Sharma bowled well in patches ,was very inconsistent and a bit unlucky too. He could be given one more chance however Dhoni better open the attack with Md. Shami and B/Kumar with M/Sharma coming at one change.

Even South Africa look clueless on turning Indian pitches. no big deal , give them some time. If we play 5 spinners like they play 5 seamers what would you guys say?

Where were all of you when India won the champions trophy in England? Did the same team not do it?

Would be rejoicing that he made the right decision by requesting BCCI to conduct a home series with WI :-)

NOTHING SO GREAT
by Shilpa Mehta on Dec 06, 2013 03:02 PM  | Hide replies

There is nothing so great in Steyn & Morkel . These bowlers gets battered when they bowl on sub continent pitches . Here
suddenly they become ordinary .

They are good only on SA wickets .

Here goes the saying ' GHAR KE SHER ,

BAHAR DHER ' - - -
