dhoni is correct, if india had same team or better like SA.

if india had same team or better team against Auz like we had for SA. our win was sure. We need to consider Zaheer and tendulkar according to t20 reflexes. Irfan is off and on, Gambhir is off and on, so bring in rahane, yadav, etc.

Virat has always made a statement throughout the season that he has kept things simple and that whenever he thinks too much and becomes more desperate he doesnt play well..he takes things as it comes , works hard in the nets and learn from his mistakes made in the previous match when he doesnt perform and we have always seen that virat performs well after one failure and plays a match winning innings...Virat should learn from the super six stage and work on one aspect of his game ..in both australi and south africa match, his pattern of dismissal is similar..he couldnt score of forcing shots of pace bowlers bowing short to him .. cummins and kallis..bowling short deliveries..then he tried to go for one shot too many (which is understandable in t20 perhaps he wouldnt have done so in 50 over match ) and gave a chance .And as we all know australi and south africa are two best fielding sides of the world on a consistent basis , they dont drop chances like pakistan and srilanka . these are the two oppositions whom virat has scored heavily in the last 8 months . Another aspect of his batting is his handling of short dewliveries on the off stump at head high..this is an area of concern as he is impulsive hooker and plays the shot naturally... and teams are working this out and trying to place fielders at proper places .. we have seen numerous times in past 8 months that he has top edged hook shorts and given chances .. few have been taken and few have been dropped.

so right...... Virat did not bat for 50 overs, Virat did not bowl for 50 overs, Virat did not keep wickets for 50 overs. That is why we lost.

Bowling attack not as weak as made out to be
by priyankush ghosh on Oct 03, 2012 09:06 AM

To be honest has not Balaji swung a new cricket ball for the last 5 6 years for his state or franchise??? I dont think so..he is a good enough bowler who can bowl with new ball..and it is highly incomprehensible to think that a medium pace bowler is in the team only because of his abilities with the old ball!! Does it happen in any other country other than india?? Why are we wasting our fast bowlers throughout the country by trying to keep them out of the team because of our captain is comfortable when pitches turn and spin and when he can deploy his fav part timers like rohit, raina and yuvraj .Dhoni is a waste of a captain when it comes to neutral conditions where his skills totally get exposed..in a match that india had to win inside 15 overs , he bowled his main bowlers zaheer, ashwin and balaji afetr 14 th over and who actually won the match from a precarious position...all of them took wickets which makes the case even stronger that if they were deployed and made to complete their quotas before the 16th over India would have much better chance of winning the game..It is pathetic for our world cup winning skipper to even think that rohit sharma is better wicket taking option that ashwin or balaji..if balaji hasnt gotr the skippers\' confidence with the new ball he should not be in the team ; bowlers only should be in the team when they have everybody\'s confidence to win matches out of any situation be with the new or old ball..see starc, cummins, steyn, umar gul, malinga.

Strong bowling units
by priyankush ghosh on Oct 03, 2012 08:56 AM

West Indies with their power packed batting line up was the only team who reached the semis based on their batting skills. All the other three teams have reached the semis because of the variety in bowling department . Australi,Pakistan and Srilanka have the most versatile bowling units in the competition and they richly deserved their place in the semis. We should feel really pitiful of our team that why cant we have more match winning bowlers in our playing eleven forget in playing 15. How long do we keep on wasting our bowling talents and how long do we tolerate different principles for batsmen or bowlers. If batsmen are failing to do their job , the skipper is trying to make a point or prove a point that their part time bowling can be an asset to the team .Why is it that a bowler like balaji has no faith of a captian to bowl with the new ball in a match that India had to win in 15 overs. What was the necessity or use of winning the match by 1 runs and proving that we are as good as pakistan or australi when it comes to winning number of games..Look at how the aussies thrashed India and the pakis thrashed aussies .That should be the way to play cricket. In our team only Virat is the one batsman who is taking the attack to the opposition with his bat consistently .no body else in the team has the consistency ..not good enough to win matches by 1 run ...look how pakis won match against SA.. counter atacking from 77/7 and their bowler umar gul thrashed SA to win the match.
