yes, Sachin was the reason that weaknesses of Dravid and Laxman were not exposed. He continues to win tests for India after their departures.
We are always going by personal records. Ponting once said – “In India people are happy if Sachin scores a century irrespective of a win or a loss, but for Australia victory is more important”. We can see the outcome: Ponting was a part of 100 test victories, whereas our record conscious SRT rejoiced with his 100 centuries ( in his arrogant press conf. after defeat causing 100th century). So, no need to prove who is a greater player
dhoni is playing musical chairs with their bowlers.sachin has to be the captain.dravid is a good technical player.laxman is also good.dhoni is not a good captain.

we can see how BEST he was from the performance of KKR in the initial IPL matches. and after pune team are an indication of his SUPERB captaincy..

Perfect title for the stats presented here.... Yes it is true....when it comes to numbers and statistics, Ricky plays second fiddle to Sachin.. But when it comes to winning matches and contributing to the teams cause Ricky is the best... Even the so-called Number Game (108 test wins / 48 as captain) proves that..

as far as winning is concerned, cricket is team game and Ricky played most of his cricket with the team that had some terrific match winners.

there could be number of reasons behind it .... Aussies play more tests than we do ... Ponting plays at no3 & sachin at 4. Didn't you notice the diff of 5000 runs in ODI or diff of about 30 Intl centuries.
