There was this young lad in 1989 series against arch rivals Pakistan - carting all the bowlers of the likes of Imran, Abdul Qadir & Akram to the fences...he has travelled 22 years thus long carrying the expectations of India all the time he went into the middle... it is not right to mix up issues pertaining to Ponting's retirement and Sachin's desires...Sachin should continue to play as long as his mind tells him and his body allows him to continue to play...he must quit on his own terms...no doubt about that...

The answer is: there may be a problem with YOUR vision, not the doctor's! You are so short-sighted my friend! *shakes head*
Indian players fear to comment against Sachin. All players including Gavaskar take U turn on remark against Sachin. Gautam Gambhir remark is totaly incorrect. Sachin age factor is fully responsible for his bad performance but he refused to retire & hence now only possibility is that selection committee should drop him after Nagpur test & did not select him for one day series against Pakistan.

It is your wish , our wish. But our wish will not come true. the only way to escape the torture is to switch on the t v when he is back in the pavillion.

To every rule there is an exception—and an idiot ready to demonstrate it. Don't be the one
then nobody is going to retire from the glamour and fame of international cricket. If somebody is not delivering the goods for a long pereiod of time, and especially if he is somebody who is in his 30's, then the team or the nation doesnt benefit anything, by persisting with him. Its high time then, to give some youngster a chance. If he fails, then we can atleast say that we are trying to find a good young player. But what will we gain if someone who is in the latter half of his 30's fails? Its high time we select players based on a fair judgement of his performance and also looking at the future of the team rather than a selection based on emotional feelings. In sport, there is no scope of such emotions. Only performance matters. If not, then better, be ready to face more debacles like the one against england in the last match
Our so called great Sticky refused to be a captain when the country needed him . then he says he is not selfish. refused to open the innings in tests when India were looking for a solid opener & then he says he is not selfish. india lost the match & teh cup when he slowed down to achieve his 100th , then he says he is not selfish. when he is not contributing for the last 2 years , when his age & form are not on his side & his presence is becoming a burden he still refuses to quit as he says he is enjoying his game. tehn he says he is not selfish.
Then we all say he is not selfish. We all are wrong

aschin was the best batsman till 2003.he was unique. I liked him. he should have quit long back or 2-3 years back after he failed in england.
