Sachin should quit Test cricket and stick to ODIs until he completes his 50th century and then pack off from there too.
No one is dying to watch him anymore. If Sachin is so much interested in watching himself play, he should buy the DVDs of his past matches and enjoy the popcorn.

Thanks for enlightening me with your view bak bak. Had someone told me this earlier, I would have retired long time back. Anyways, I will take your views into consideration.
Ricky was one of the most technically correct & aggressive batsman. He was always a problem for India in his prime time scoring big hundreds. He also captained an Australian team that was under rebuilding after Steve & did a good job.It is good to see him writing on the wall & leave with head high
Sachin can hang his boot in dignity. Instead of taking criticisms from several quarters, a legend like him should go on his own terms. But, one should not forget that there is no replacement in sight till this very moment in Indian Cricket for Sachin, atleast half his stature.. Not to forget, guys like Viru is about to retire as well..

This is all ancient myth. Having no immediate replacement should not be a reason to prolong the retirement. Unless you put someone thru' the fire there is no way you to tell if the team is going to do well without Sachin. This sort of orthodox conservative mentatily is killing the Indian cricket. Why is there so much pessimissm? Why don't people trust the young folks? Give them a chance, rebuild the team. Every team goes thru' this process consistently. You take a bullet once in a while but at the same time you stand up and fight and fire more bullets. It will work out.
There is lot more higher rate of success now, looking at the exposure and confidence level the youngsters are getting thru' IPL, India A/B programs compared to the days when there were young folks making it to India team only with Ranji experience. There were so many failures we have seen with this process.
Times have changed. There are lot of hidden bright natural candles burning brightly under the beds in our country. Take them out and let them glow. Stop running on heavy maintenance artifically recharged battery
Guys now see, sachin would also announce his retirement since Ponting has done it now. Since Ponting is the only one who could cross sachin's test records in contemporary cricket, sachin has been holding his decision. Now sachin is free and he will definitely take a call anytime soon.

He is the best ranked Indian batsman (18) in test world ranking. Next is Pujara (21) and likes of Kohli(38), MSD(40) are way behind there. If these so called good players are not able to match Sachin then how someone will replace him at this point.
In ODIs I can accept that Sachin can retire as he is not in top half of performers there. But in tests we need him badly, he is still the best we have in tests.

In India, retirement age is 60 years for everyone including sportsmen. When cricket administrators can continue after 70, why can't our great Tendu? So do not expect Sachin to annoounce his retirement any sooner than 2030.
Oz selectors r always gr8. Remember Greg chappel & David Boon scored hundreds in their innings of career , Mcdermott took 5 wickets in his last innings of career but still selctors nvr deviated from their decisions frm retiring these players. Our selectors r spineless n bows out to Tendulkar fr everything n every day.

So what was the reason of keeping pointing on field for last 2 years? and defending him saying we need him for next Ashes as well when Ponting himself declared retirement?
reason for retiring " i am not contributing for the teams cause" amazing guy with great spirit... oh by the ways he just failed in the last 2 tests....

Oh and he is still 37 ;)... after an amazing last year with so many runs he is quitting cause he dint perform in the last 2 matches and he is not getting younger.... hmmmmm...

Who tells you such fiction? Ponting's poor form is of around 10 matches or so. Aussie selectors were keeping quiet all these days thinking he would do well or quit by himself. Last 10 innings, he has scored only one 50 knock that too against #8 West Indies. He is shameless to tell lies that he is retiring because he is not contributing. Aussie selectors are notpussies like our selectors not to warn him.

He is not performing since last 3 years. Just given a gift from India's toothless bowling last year. SRT is not performing only since NZ tour of India(last 4 matches)

when the batters score less than 200 in most of those matches where is the chance to bowl out dude...

Funny logic friend, our batsmen played badly, YES. But what prevented the bowlers to take wickets atleast in the 1st innings? Apart from Praveen Kumar in England and Zaheer Khan in Aus (to a very small extent), our bowling was pathetic (to say the least).....
Re: Salute to the Actual Master
by Mr Infinity on Nov 29, 2012 12:13 PM
Really??? He himself said he was not scoring enough for last 2 years!!! hehehe, you must be watching some other Pointing for that much time. :)
I have to play 200 or more tests I have to score 300 I know selectors are scared of me I want to play along side my son I want to play along side my grand.. ... ... Sachin
Re: i'll never retire
by Sudhir on Nov 29, 2012 11:34 AM
What nonsense our selectors are. They say Sachin to retite. Sachin will not. SUPPOSE, every player do like this, what is the role of BCCI and selector. Sachin plays for his own record and money, not for country. He is now congress Mp ALSO.

aussie selectors said, if you score in perth , you are on for ashes.
