bcci shud learn from aussie n proteas board
by Manoj poojary on Nov 06, 2012 05:57 AM

aussie n proteas selection committee dosent select player when he is not in form.they use thier bench player n constantly try out new players.india are just getting emotional by giving viru n gautam gambir chance since a year.they shud try with new combinations when so many talented players are just resting.grow up bcci

Don't harp on past records, both of them haven't scored a century in 2 years and look at their last 2 Years record and that will tell u that it's time for India to move on and look for 2 new openers.

Put on notice???
by Tamil Indian on Nov 06, 2012 03:01 AM  | Hide replies

So this is what you call as putting on notice - you add a extra opener who will 100% not play. Laughable. Secondly what exactly is the need to have a reserve opener when you are playing in your own country?
Sad truth is...Indian team is selected based on brand names and sponsors not on talent or form.

De Konga,

You dunno much about selection. In your place, if anyone else is selected, that is a caution to that player, saying we are watching you and we will replace you if time comes, and if gauti fails in his 2innings, in second test they'd put Vijay in that place.
Now to ur 2nd point, it's not like gully cricket, u phone ur frnd and come n ask him to play, he shud be within the team and should understand the strategy and all.

Go back and lay tar on the roads of blore and settle in ulsoor.

thanks for your response - please read Gavaskar's view (in rediff news today) on selecting 15 players for a home test. He knows a thing or two about cricket I guess

Badri!!
by Smart on Nov 06, 2012 01:01 AM  | Hide replies

Not sure what the selectors are up to???Badri was selected for NZ in the absence of Lax...now he is dropped without even given a chance...and why Vijay???you already have Rahane as an opener...chaos theory..how can you gauge a person without giving him a chance..He has scored collosal runs in domestic circuit and i dont think he needs to prove anything...wasting a talent...

Murali Vijay's inclusion.....Not justified...
by Indian on Nov 05, 2012 11:47 PM  | Hide replies

How come a failed batsman in all formats including IPL makes it to the test???
we have better players like tiwari or pujara or rahane who could have been given a chance.....

very bad decision....this selection panel is just same as usual...
