Dear Javid shairkh do not degrade bengal just because ganguly is not playing well, in his early firm days he was very good player, you can't expect player to play the same through out his career. Now he is 40, stamina and strength is not the same. Kindly do not abuse bengal just because you do not like ganguly.

I don't want to mix CKT with dirtyy politics but Guest has taken a point that proud of Bengal and all that so I raised point. Even I am not proud of my state as our Politicians has made mess of that state with corruption.

James, sorry, but u r really blind. There are many of such instances where Ganguly did take the responsibility on his shoulder to win India. At a stage he was highest run getter in the world for successive 2 years. My request to you, please do not put him on such blames. Do not forget Asia Cup finals in Dhaka where India bet Pakistan (Pak was a better team than India then) and Ganguly batted excellent to take India on the way of win. But do agree that he is not in a position to play good cricket now as he had reached 40 and lacking in his fitness.

Against Pakistan I think you forgot Robin singh made 82 and it was SRT who started destroying Pak bowling and gave an excellent start. I will repeat again he is a good batsman but not greatest even he was a selfish captain. I still hate him the way he use to blame other if India lose and take credit if India win.

I remember one match against Aussie in 2001 when Aussie came to India. India was chasing 350 and SRT made 62 from 38 and ganguly made 9 of 36.

It is pity that in spite of being such a wonderful cricketer he had face so much criticism. I agree there is nothing much he can contribute as a cricketer now but pl do not abuse his past performance. We all know that IPL is more of entertainment than cricket. It is very easy to make fun of others and hurl abuses especially when a person is failing.

This is fact. 1. But do you know how much change KKR have gone through after GG took the captaincy? Ganguly got a much poorer team while he captained for 2 years. 2. Ganguly playing bad in IPL does not make him bad player specially if you are knowledgeable about cricket and know his statistics both as player and captain.

Coming to Ganguly, who , in my belief , is gifted with an extraordinary grey mater , spent half of his youth in football ground and suddenly becomes a great cricketer . He keeps interest and show talent in many other domains and adapts so well . Yes, there are very less cricketers from Bengal , but you may be asked how many Footballers are there in UP . Or, how many captains in India can be compared with Ganguly ? How many cricketers in the world has socred more than 10K in ODI ? ..... and many more Ganguly's career was eventfull both on and off the field , till the last match (scored almost a hundred in that) . But, cant help mentioning the tussle with Greg Chappel . Sourav was left out from the side in an attempt to shape up the team for 2007 world cup . But, the team's pre-world cup performance under Dravid's captaincy was so pathetic that he had to be called back (ofcourse not as a captian) . And the story doesnt end here . Who was the top scorer from India in the WC'2007 ....
I read in newspaper today that Ganguly was saying he will not relent and keep captaining the Pune side..and will not give any chance to youngsters. Today Ganguly is saying he wants to give chance to youngsters.Whatever happened overnight is anybody's guess.
