why is srikant worried about sachin,s retirement, his job is to select the best team, he is certainly not doing his job well, if gavaskar had played for another 10 years, sachin wouldn;t have gotten a chance to play for the country, if kapil would have played for 10 more years, zaheer wouldn;t have got an apportunity, LET HIM DO HIS JOB OF SELECTING THE BEST TEAM & DO JUSTICE TO INDIAN CRICKET FANS

ok, what i wanted to ask is, i usually miss mates while playing, however, some of those mates i would not miss if i were doing puzzles.. (like a typical mate in one)..other day i played over the board with someone..i eventually won but i had missed mate in 1 earlier...what can i do to overcome it?

well taklu, i suggest to not miss mate in one you simply have to be a little more careful and not play very fast and take a little time when the opponent king is in a position where he can get mated real fast...if you play hastily you are likely to miss those mate in ones...

hmm thanks, but i guess its easier said than done. if someone were to tap me over the shoulder ' hey look there's mate in one' , i would find it..but its difficult without a heads up in a game. i later analyzed it..and found there was a 'mate in 3' (but that looked too difficult for my playing strength) , but i was disappointed to see that there was 'mate in one' opportunity at least twice-thrice later in game which looked easy (and i would've found that in a puzzle position) and i missed it. i finally nailed the mate though but i could've done better ..at least the easy mate in one.

like which for example? england? then how come they whitewashed by pakistan? australia? the how come they were routed by england?
it does not mean that you will ALWAYS win if you have good bowlers...there will be ups and downs...

Take Asia Cup. Pak showed us how to beat BD rather than blame Sachin and Kohli as the reason for failure.

well take the odi series against eng...how did pak lose so badly there? they could not beat england could they? there bowling obviously is very bad according to your logic and they should first find some good bowlers...:)

Oh u talk about history..Sachin scored 7 centuries too when India made it to the top 1 team in test..hw come u forgot that?
"Srikant"(Weak man) is perfectly aware abt sachins "Hidden" Ambitions....but still he is keeping "Quiet" & compromising "National Interests"!! "Sports Ministry" should "Interfere" becoz "Srikant" is not doing his "Duty" on behalf of "Nation"... "Srikant"(Weak man) is a "Lameduck" in the hands of "Corportaes"... These "Corporates" want do "Business" with sachins "Mighty Records" & keep india losing "consistently"!!!! All these things are happening becoz of "Foundation" laid by "Corrupt parliamentarians" which is "Reflecting on "Indian society"... Rather following path of "Truth" the "Society" is following path of "Wrongdoings"!!!!!!

:-) and which agency has given you the job of copy pasting?? :-)
I really feel sorry for youngsters like Manoj Tiwary, A Rahane ....and many more talented youngsters whose place Sachin is blocking for no reason. In Aus also Rohit Sharma was benched all along during Tests making it difficult for him to make a mark in the Tri-series. Poor Rohit got a chance in the Asia Cup as Sehwag was not picked in the series and Rohit came good. It is apparent the likes of Virat,Rohit and many more youngsters waiting for chance not Sachin are the future of Indian cricket .We all saw how Sachin scored his historic HH costing the B'desh match and ASIA cup for India. Srikant should make Sachin the captain of Test side till a permanent replacement arrives from among the youngsters and retire Sachin from one dayers forthwith. This will give freedom and flexibility to the selectors to rebuild a young one day side for future.

basvaraja ,
very good afternoons.
i agrees with you.
if sachin belongs bengaloru , srikantha was dropeed hi, But sachin belongs mumbai which HQ of BCCI & where gavaskar & shastri is resident also. They always approached BCCI for not dropped tendulkar. srikantha was not annoyed BCCI becuase BCCI is paid money to him , also BCCI president srinivasan belongs chennai.
so now hopefully you is understood the wholesome game of BCCI & srikantha.
"Sachin" is playing for the "Nation" & not for his "Family" to decide on "himself" when to "Retire" or "Dropped". Only "God" Knows how "India" is listening to these "Statements" on "Retirement"!!! When "Ponting" was asked abt his "Retirement" ,he said its "Selectors" Job that is "Sportsmanship". "Sachin" is "crossing" all the boundaries to be in "Record" Books!!! But having said this in "India" we always have a Weak man (Srikant)at the Top post with "Decisions" made somewhere else(Corporate BCCI). Also in this case both "Corporate BCCI" & "Opportunistic Corporate Media" are "Helpless". "Records" only "Satisfy" Money making "Sponsors"/"Corporates"/"Opportunistic Corporate media"/"Individuals" as in "Team Sport" only "Team" matters & "Team India" is the Only "Brand" in "Team Sport". "God" save "Indian Cricket"!!!!
