HATE DEVIL
great talent but full of arrogance and pride
by HATE DEVIL on Mar 21, 2012 07:30 AM

Virat, you can reach places byt give up your arrogance and pride. Learn from the fact that you played 2 amazing innings, one in Hobart and one here against Pak and on both ocassions they came out to be useless for India.
You are the future captain but behave like one.

if sri lanks win will keep india away from finals, they will even win against australia. And if sri lanka loss will keep india away from finals, they will even loose to bangladesh

Rahul Dravid was great. But Kohli style is so different from him.

Dravid provided stability in the order. It is proven by Kohli batting around tendulkar, Rohit sharma, Raina, that he will dictate the flow while others drop anchor.

Y not? If Ravi Shastri makes a comeback, he can effectively replace Rahul, for Ravi's strike rate (or lack of it) is legendary.

His ability to handle pressure surely makes him a good international cricketer. The area of concern is his habit to play across the line & that can be a problem in test cricket.Let us hope that it will be taken care as he progresses in his career.

Exactly! Same prob with Gambhir also. If only these two players try to play in front of the wicket till they get their eye in (remember the numerous times Gambhir got out trying to run the ball to 3rd man/gully in recent tourneys), they will make big scores no doubt!

Ask on 20th March 2014
by sanjay on Mar 20, 2012 03:28 PM  | Hide replies

Just ask where is Virat Kohli on 20th March 2014. People will find it difficult to see his whereabouts in another 2 years. He has headweight and will be another kambli. Still if u want to find him in 2 years, watch Ten sports or Neo . Old highlights will be there

How much have u followed his cricketing career???

Iam sure u are talking from yr ASSSS

He was Under 19 CAptain of Indian team and he lead Indian team to world cup victory (Final was against Pakistan)

He has come up Hard way, with only his performance to back him

He has a good background. This can be seen on how he conducts himself on Field and also how he speaks whenever he is put on mike.

Upbringing makes lots of difference.

Virat Kohli was captain of India U19 team which defeated South Africa in the final and not Pakistan. I have seen the match.

Kambli was an A**, he was blaming SRT for his downfall . Kambli says that SRT could have advised him to be a better humanbeing, which means kambli cannot himself judge and analyse. There was nobody for SRT , he conducted himself very well on and off the field and moreover SRT is known for his humbleness till today unlike Vinod Kambli. Virat lost his way early but he made a wonderful comeback realising his mistakes as did Yuvraj. I am sure in the coming years virat will prove to be solid player as dravid and will be future captain of Team India. We require players with passion just as Virat.

Virat was the captain of the Junior Cricket team which had won the Junior world cup. Kambli was first of all a joker and then a promising cricketer. No wonder he was dumped early and his contemporary Ganguly went on to lead India, with far less capabilities as a cricketer.

Another Myth
by ashish sahu on Mar 20, 2012 02:22 PM  | Hide replies

If Bangladesh wins this; people shall have a myth - whenever Kohli hits century in final leage match, even though India wins that match, they do not enter Finals ; similar to the myth that India loses when Sachin hits a century

HOW LONG THIS FORM WILL CONTINUE
by koni on Mar 20, 2012 12:45 PM  | Hide replies

VIRAT IS IN SUPER FORM. CAN HE CONTINUE SAME FORM ANOTHER TEN YEARS, ATLEAST 4 OR 5 YRS ITS BIG QUESTION. ONE YEAR BACK, GAMBIR WAS IN SUPERFORM. ANYWAY ITS FOOLISH TO THINK, ALL PLAYERS PLAY LIKE SACHIN AND CONTINUE FORM FOR MANY YEARS.

Koni, You are absolutely right. Here are some examples created by some fans/media
1.Raina after scoring 80in his early matches. - We got another Tendulkar.
2. Irfan after some terrific bowling.- We got another kapil Dev.
3. Avishkar salvi- another Mcgrath.
4. Akash Chopra n SS das - another Gavaskar.
5. Munaf patel- another Brett Lee.
6. Murali Kartik - another Bedi

and so on...

Funniest comments are those here, in which people are rating Kohli better than Tendulkar.

Kohli may emerge as a great player but he will have to wait. One should not forget that we are still struggling for the replacement of Ganguly at n0.6.

Well, every one comes to a saturation level after playing for longer period. Ganguly and Dravid just did the right thing of retiring when they were supposed to do that.
10tul should not be greedy and keep saying that I have some more cricket left. You may be able to play, no doubt. By doing that you are denying an youngster the chance of getting into indian team. Evey record is meant to be broken. People should not play cricket for the sake of making records.
Please don't tell that you are in good form (good form where - in Bangaladesh, because of you we lost against them. Now do doubt B'desh is going to final. Please retire from ODIs and keep playing test ckt some more time and retire gracefully.

Yuvi will definitely come back to indian team in tests and ODIs and will make No 6 his own - esp after the torture he has been through! Wont be surprised if he is even given captaincy later on

Place at Number 3 in Indian Side - Test Match.
by Sameer Sayed on Mar 20, 2012 12:44 PM  | Hide replies

Yes ofcourse Virat performance was stunning and Interesting. But I think Ashwin as a bowler,if we give him opportunity to bat at number 3 in test match then this will be a new finding as India's point of view. His batting style is very much classic and wristy, he plays all side of the wickets and has good temperament and over all confidence is tremendous in him. Lance Klusner was given opportuniy by his captain Hansie in similar way if Dhoni show his trust on Ashwin then definetly it will be great to see the youngstar like Ashwin will show his unbelievable talent in respect of the Batting if he is given chance. In short he is Technically correct which is a sign of a complete batsman.
