retiring for someones sake is not the right thing to do. he believes to be a soldier and has done his job. ganguly wa sdropped hence he retired. Rahul has defenitely seen his reflexes aging hence he retired. sachin has got his hundred. He has done what others did not do. those people who call him selfish in the true sence are the real selfish people.
Sachin is the greatest selfish player to have played any game ever. His fans are being befooled by statistics & numbers. Now, he is fooling himself by not retiring like his godmother Lata Mangeshkar. All those who have criticised him are two hundred percent right.

I want to add to that. Kallis has scored centuries during crunch situations, whereas plaster baba has done it majority of the times at flat pitches where India has either lost or the match was drawn. The latest match is another example
Two tours of abject failure and Sachin believes he is on top; let not a 100 against Bangladesh at an average of 4.5 rpo on a flat track fool us or him.

He has already shown fitness for politics. He had also cried for customs duty exemption for his fancy Ferrari car. He thinks retiring is selfish! Like all politicians.
