SUCH A COWARD CAPTAIN? Listen to yourself... Such a coward captain who bought home the WORLD CUP to India after how many years?! 'Young' talent is first interested in that farce called IPL before National team... end of...

vinita can you explain which success you are talking about? which foreign succes of dada are you talking about? did he win in aus or eng or sa? can you a little more specific about dada's wonderful foreign achievements/
but yes he does hold a dubious record of reaching and not winning the maximum finals india reached...whether in india or abroad...

@ Sanjay IPL....is it introduced just before England Tour or Aussies Tour.... Blaming IPL will be childish as this was fifth edition not the first edition that you would it for Indian team debacle..... Where is his midas touch now? where is his leadership now?

Even in that situation CSK won 4 out of last 5 matches. Team was looking united and morale was high of each players. That's the contribution of a good captain.

captain contribution was very good also when India los 8 consecutive test overseas & 1 st round exit in t-20 wcup 2008 & 2010 loosing all matches. Where was contribution of politicain dhoni then? Only a lucky manipulator
Re: Re: m
by Jiju on Jun 20, 2012 03:36 PM
Haryana's hot favorite is Kapil Dev. Does it mean that he joins some IPL team and they win?? Ganguly's inclusion itself was a joke.....!
Re: Re: Re: m
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 20, 2012 03:39 PM
I know. But in India people only see what media and our poor cricket experts except Kapil Dev want to show them.
Re: Re: Re: Re: m
by Jiju on Jun 20, 2012 03:47 PM
Kapil has himself to blame. He dint go with the flow, he wanted people in power to listen to him. Another person like Greg Chappel who had lots of talent & ability but lost the hunt because of his action.
Not everybody can be Aamir Khan (change the rules) :)
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: m
by Vinita Punjabi on Jun 20, 2012 03:52 PM
hahahaha Anurag CSK was in mercy of other teams knock out to reach play off's, same was the case in Asia cup, tri series one dayers too....three times in this year we have seen that the seal in the final was at some other teams mercy....
Re: Blind haters...
by Jiju on Jun 20, 2012 03:26 PM
Diehard fans who say that Ganguly was a good captain will also say the same thing as you Dhoni fantards say, "if the team does not perform, the captain is not responsible" :)
Re: Re: Blind haters...
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 20, 2012 03:28 PM
Die hard fan will never criticize his favorite player. So there is difference between blind fan and a fan who appreciate good player.
How come it was dada's team? We have Dhoni, Gambhir, P.Ojha, R.Ashwin, P.Kumar, I.Sharma, S.Sreesanth, M.Patel, V.Kohli, S.Raina etc. All made their test debut after 2006.
Let me tell you some real statistics which media doesn't highlight. Under Ganguly's captaincy India won 21 test matches in which 9 were against Ban and Zim. If you talk about abroad record Ganguly won 11 tests in abroad in which 6 were against Ban and Zim.
Re: @Vinita...
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 20, 2012 02:52 PM
absolutely well said, anurag...
and i doubt whether the team consisting of sachin, dravid, kumble, ganguly, laxman can be called dada's team either....
because azhar's team consisted of sachin, dravid, ganguly himself, laxman, kumble etc. so shall we say azhar built india's (successful) team and dada reaped its benefits?
Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 20, 2012 02:54 PM
Yes. Bhajji, Ganguly, Dravid, Laxman, Srinath etc all made debut before Gangulys captaincy. Ganguly was good captain but he choked as batsman under pressure of captaincy.
Re: @Vinita...
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 20, 2012 02:52 PM
One thing which make Dhoni more special that he didn't have biggest match winner Kumble and S.Gangly but still gave better result that previous teams.
Re: Re: @Vinita...
by prashant chaudhary on Jun 20, 2012 03:04 PM
what a joke he has big match winners like yuraj, sachin, laxman, dravid, sehwaag, zahir, harbhajan. and all played in team which was lead by ganguly.
Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 20, 2012 03:07 PM
Read my statement carefully. "he didn't have biggest match winner Kumble and S.Gangly but still gave better result than previous teams." The players you are mentioning were exist in previous teams also then why team failed that time? We got whitewash in NZ in 2002. Why?
Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 20, 2012 03:06 PM
very good point anurag....under dhoni we were no. 1 test team for about 2 years...and not ONE of these tests had kumble (the one with most test wickets...no other indian bowler has taken more test wickets than him)...dhoni's bowling attack consisted mostly of zaheer, ishant, sreesanth, bhajji, ozha and mishra with whom he managed to keep india no. 1 in tests for 2 years...
Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 20, 2012 03:10 PM
Exactly. We won 9 tests consecutively. India were undefeated for almost 2 years to seal the number 1 place which never ever happened during the captaincy of former captains like Ganguly, Dravid, Kumble etc.
Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 20, 2012 03:16 PM
true...dravid, kumble had ''ganguly's indian team'' handed over to before dhoni got it... so what happened? why werent they as successful as dhoni?
Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Jiju on Jun 20, 2012 03:20 PM
India was #1 because 90% of the matches were played on flat wickets. In SA, we won due to exceptional performances from Laxman & Harbhajan. In SA, we again won because of Laxman, Ojha & Sehwag. Winning over NZ is nothing given the fact that they are as bad as Bangladesh from almost a decade in test matches. And again, Gambhir was the captain for ODI series and he proved that Dhoni is not crucial to win against NZ......
All these individual performances had nothing to do with Dhoni. If you think Dhoni was the reason India was #1 or if u think Dhoni is the reason India is losing hold on tests, may THELORD save you guys....!
Team lead by any Sehwag or Gambhir can win in India because everybody contributes from India.
Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 20, 2012 03:25 PM
Individual contribution is part of this game. A team only wins when some individual performs well. Here the discussion is about to use the available resources properly. All 4 captains Ganguly, ravid, Kumble and Dhoni had almost same players but why India got the best result only during Dhoni's captaincy that too when India didn't have Kumble and Ganguly in the side!!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 20, 2012 03:35 PM
Did this happen first time in indian cricket history? Each captain got the chance to lead the team in India.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Jiju on Jun 20, 2012 03:38 PM
So what? Dont u acknowledge the fact that India has played maximum cricket than other teams recently? Even earlier, India used to do well at home against everyone except Australia. As the "performers" in the Aussie team began getting old, our team started its climb tot he peak.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 20, 2012 03:39 PM
jiju maharaj, according to you ''90%'' of the matches were played on flat wickets...
i take it that you claim that the performances of 11 players from our team from those ''90%'' mathces have zero value? totally worthless? well you have a right to your opinion...
and if you want to say those 90% mathces on flat wickets were all worthelss...all those performances have to be discounted and have no value...well, what can i ssay...their goes the performances of sehwag, gambhir, laxman, sachin, dravid, etc.. etc...all can be safely sold to the local raddiwalla....
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 20, 2012 03:40 PM
btw if our performances can be sold at rate of raddi where do well sell the performances of teams like sa, aus, eng etc. on those same flat wickets those same 90% matches??/
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 20, 2012 03:48 PM
jiju, all your messages today make me wonder what you might be your opinion about aus, eng winning 90% or more matches on their home ground advantages on pitches prepared to suit their strengths? and how much value should we give to them?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 20, 2012 03:50 PM
jiju, maharaj, dhoni;s first assignment was against aus no. 1 odi team in australia cb series...where he won with his team of new comers...ditto in SA during T20 wc...i suppose even you will agree those matches were not playled on flat indian wickets...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Jiju on Jun 20, 2012 04:02 PM
So, you mean to say If Praveen Kumar bowls well in the matches, it is because of Dhoni?? If Yuvraj SIngh plays well, it is because of Dhoni?? If Midget & Praveen Kumar play well in finals, it is because of Dhoni??
And by the way, when some one says "you are not studying properly", the answer is not "my neighbour is also not studying properly". Similar to your claim. India played almost 60 tests in the last 5 years (2007~2012), highest by anyone. So, they were bound to be #1 on any victory, home or away.
I will be replying to ur further allegations (if any) against me probably tomorrow. I am going out now.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 20, 2012 04:10 PM
jiju maharaj, if dhoni does not make any difference to anything...then if he is not responsible for wins then he is also not responsible for defeats...if he cannot be credited or has nothing to do with indian wins either in india or abroad...then he has nothing to be blamed about in losses either whether in india or abroad...
jiju maharaj according to your logic and thought processes....dhoni is not responsible for either defeats or wins...so if india were no. 1 dhoni not responsible and if india loses and reaches no. 8 position still dhoni cannot be blamed...according to your ''logic'' if india wins dhoni responsible 0% and if india loses dhoni responsible 100%,.,,,no arguments are possible against such ''divine logic'' jiju maharaj....
i bow before your astounding logic....you are the greatest!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @Vinita...
by Jiju on Jun 20, 2012 05:47 PM
Sunil Vaidya, Yes. 1 person is not responsible for the team's ranking. I dont want to blame 1 person for those whitewashes or victories. No problem if u bow, i will pray that sense be given to you.

i am very well thank you...but i did not understand your post about good news to pupils from dhoniji school? what good news? what do you mean? whatdoes school of seslfish learning mean?
Anurag, these victories came earlier years....he was leading DADA's team....Dada was responsible for this team...what about now? what has happened all of a sudden now? where does he stand.....EXPOSED....truly exposed.....never before shame.ful. defeats ....has exposed him.....he is in infact the most co.wa.rd captain, non-agressive, very defensive captain india ever had. Why he is not able to maintain his wining ratio... The First captain to bring Raina, Jaddu, MVijay.... they are exposed too....complete failures....his cham.chas come first before the esteem of team India....
Re: Re: Sheer Luck
by madan menon on Jun 20, 2012 02:18 PM
really..this lakshman, sachin, dravid, sehwag, kumble, srinath, gambhir were all playing for long years..then how come India was not winning then..? it is only dhoni's shrewed captaincy made sure India wins. he has special technique that he applies..if you want to check, just change the captain and we will go back to old ways..of LOSING..
Re: Re: Re: Re: Sheer Luck
by Sanjay on Jun 20, 2012 02:33 PM
What happened to the bowlers and specialist batsmen in Australia and England is the question I would ask! Did they even 'show up'???
Re: Re: Re: Re: Sheer Luck
by madan menon on Jun 20, 2012 02:42 PM
in both australia and england dhoni played well. but unfortunately we had a depleted bowling attack, with all injuries to praveen, aaron, sreesant, zaheer (not fit fully) even spinners not fit totally..as for batsmen nobody performed exceptionally well including sehwag, gambir (injured) laxman (flop) dravid and tendulkar..
Re: Sheer Luck
by Sanjay on Jun 20, 2012 02:26 PM
Can't agree - Dada's team was 'old and ragga'... some from the Dada era are still here with us today as accessories. MSD had to rebuild a team for the future. Unfortunately the 'available talent pool' is not great. Throw IPL nonsense into the equation and it only gets worse...
Re: Re: Sheer Luck
by prashant chaudhary on Jun 20, 2012 02:29 PM
available talent pool' is not great agree on this so u r contradicting ur statement it was same team which was led by ganguly
Re: Sheer Luck

How come it is Dada's team? Where is the period between 2005, 2006 and 2007. The period where Dravid and Kumble lead the team?
Re: Re: Sheer Luck
by prashant chaudhary on Jun 20, 2012 02:42 PM
it has gone to dravid and kumble by the courtesy of Great Greg Chappel dont u remember sir
Re: Re: Re: Sheer Luck
by madan menon on Jun 20, 2012 02:47 PM
whatever you say about courtesy both dravid n kumble performed well as captain..their regime was not bad, in fact many good things happened..ofcourse I am not saying dada was a bad captain, in fact he put life in INDIAN cricket team with his attacking captaincy, but as a batsman he was not exceptional...
