Ganguly statement in one article. Pathetic, brainless
by cc man on Jan 30, 2012 01:16 AM  | Hide replies

"The 39-year-old also said that selectors should respect the senior players and allow them to take a call on their retirement."

Because of such pathetic, brainless thinking calls being taken sine last 2yrs, our indian cricket has been like this.

Its high time selection committee act like Aussies and give no more chances to seniors and does not consider them for selection especially selection committee should say the following to Mr. Looser Sachin.

"Look Sachin at this juncture of your we want you to play stellar knocks consistently especially when team needed them and especially under pressure so that its inspirational to future generation of indian cricket. Otherwise we dont see any reason in retaining you in playing eleven. So, please dont take ur place for ur granted and dont be on assumption that noboday can dare to drop you and ask you to retire. We running out of time. The shameless debacle we had in Eng and Aus insite of ur presence is unforgiving and we need to make proper decisions. So let us know about ur thoughts ASAP"

CC Man:

Well said... Sachin's class is so high that when he fails to live up to his potential (though still amongst the top of the current Indian batting), he needs to be reminded of our GREAT Expectations from him!! :)

Injun Abhi:

If he is still amongst the top of the Indian batters, then you must be comparing his performance against his own usually great standards.

Hence your expectations from him are GREAT.

WHAT in this message did you NOT understand?

Sachin's usual great standards of late. 280odd runs in 8innings of 4tests. And the last test happened to be on the flat pitch. oh yeah

About the time that little midget gets thrown out of the team. The midgest hasn't said a word, he is hiding under his bed..

What intelligence!! :)

IF as you say he is a non-performer, then his being in the top of the Indian batters this series is really super brilliance from him... no? :)

We did have Kohli. :-)

AND Sehwag. And Gambhit. And Dhoni. But good that you agree that one man however brilliant cannot win matches. :-)

Yes his comments on air may be wrong. But it is also true that he is best bastman on ausie soil. Technically very sound batsman. If he had played like rahul or sachin he would have equalled the record. Same with Dlip vengaskar too. These gentleman took retirement at right time. Not selfish like big four. The big four has lost role model status. I believe saurav and anil is better then this. Everyone know ones you retire , your IPL prize go down . Ask sarav

And how old are you? And what SHastri did that make you get so so impressed with him? Dravid is considered as legend and Shastri can't even come close to it..

Shastri is one of the worst to listen to on TV. Have you ever seen him give his own opinion? Never. He looks around and listen what majority is saying and repeats the same thing as his opnion..

He never had his own opinion. He just repeats what majority of his fraternity says.

A complete joke and his comments shouldn't even be published here..

Shastri has been one of the worst manipulators and survivors in Indian cricket.

He came in as a spinner and found that he was wanting as a bowler. He converted himself into a one day batsman and played with Srikanth on dead pitches.. ocassionaly scoring a fifty..

His only innings of value was the tied test in Chennai when the fifth day was more like a one day match.

Now he talks about batting techniques..

India's quick bowlers' speed
by Elhaan Khan on Jan 29, 2012 08:59 PM  | Hide replies

India doesn't have quality quickies who can consistently bowl at the speed of 140skph whereas Pakistan has in likes of Umar Gul, Wahib Riaz , Cheemi, Tanveer , Junaid Khan and many more are available in domestic cricket. For turning wickets MashAllah we have spinners like Ajmal, Hafeez and Rehman to get the job done . I can't see any other team apart from Pakistan which has bowlers for every conditions . Bowlers win you test matches not batsmen . Indian bowlers , are over coached and that's why they lose pace even when they are still in their 20s. I watch Wasim Akram's videos of 2003 world cup and despite he was 37 then and, being diabetes patient, he was still bowling at the speed of 145kph. If Pakistan and India were part of confederation, we might let some quickies for India and get few batsmen playing for Pakistan. Thank you!

Forget about w world cup, we have won more matches than you when it comes to over all record of matches between India and Pakistan. You have won the world cup but can you perform like Champions?

Ishant was bowling late 140's and early 150's. Umesh Yadav was bowling pretty much the same too. And you say we dont have bowlers to bowl pace? Pace is overrated. If your line and length is wrong, a 200kmph ball will travel as fast to the boundary.
