Worst Indian team ever in last 40-70 years
by Sachin Joshi on Jan 28, 2012 10:12 AM  | Hide replies

8 matches lost overseas with such huge margins. It is time to fire the selectors because they have kept on selecting players who are not performing. It's easy to identify which players have consistently underperformed -

Laxman
Sehwag
Dravid
Dhoni
Tendulkar
Ishant
Gambhir

These should be dropped and new players should be brought in. Selectors have not given same amount of chances to Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina. So why are these players being given preferential treatment? They should be dropped and they should play in domestic cricket to stake their claim again. Right now I think they are not good enough to play in even Ranji trophy (and no county team will want to take them). It is ridiculous that Sehwag/Gambhir kept on opening even after failing again and again. Laxman/Dravid/Dhoni kept on playing. Atleast in last 2 matches some changes should have been made. Rahane should have been tried as opener. Rohit Sharma should have played instead of Laxman. Ojha should have been tried in last match instead of Ishant. Nothing was done by team management. In all aspects the Indian team was rubbish. BCCI was rubbish. The selectors were rubbish.

Why are you hysterical. A loss of 4-0 without any fight was diheartening but it does not give us license to abuse and caste aspersions and digrace the players who have served so well in past.

There is no need to be hysterical and take it as part of game where we loose some and win some.

First of all I'm not hysterical. It's natural to drop non-performing players to try new players. That's all I'm saying. Plain logic and reasoning. No hysteria. And it's not 4-0 for the first time. It was 4-0 in England too 5 months earlier in case your memory is weak.

Tendulkar has to be given few more chances for 100th100, for the record books, for Indian pride. but the rest themselves should introspect. When Aus were world champs they had battered evryone evrywhr, it is we who have so many excuses for this failure, used to easy batting pitches..Apart frm Tendlya, only Lax and Dravid are the other senoirs who are techinically sound to play anywhr in the World..but I dnt knw whatz wrong with them.

The wrong with the entire team is the presence of Lax, Dravid, Sehwag, and Tendu.

Raina and Yuvraj are two of the biggest craps in Test cricket. We can give chance to one of them, maybe Yuvraj, just becuase he is a left hander and can bowl left arm orthodox. But no Raina. He cannot play short picth deliveries and test match is full of them.

Its is very similar to attacking enemies by sending patients picked up from hospital wards. Its is not good to go to war field with stretchers and wheel chairs.

Seriously need another series with baby teams
by Reporter on Jan 28, 2012 09:51 AM  | Hide replies

Its time for BCCI to think about a possible tour with Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ireland or Bangladesh to for a strong recovery from this total white wash. BCCI should think about Tendulkar's 100 century which is what the billion people even some of them are leading life in the platforms and roads are still expecting this special 100. This is very important for India for boosting up its economy.

Team India

In the first instance, i guess we should not blame the players for this debacle. When the entire batsmen failed in the first test, the team management should have considered resting a couple of failed players with the back up players already we had in the team. Such an act should have brought some sense of responsibility in the minds of players.

If we have a close look at the way our batsmen batted through out the 8 test innings, we can see that they were never playing like a test batsmen ought to have played. They attempted wild shots, like the ones played in T20 and this caused all the debacle. If we have a closer look at the 80 wickets fell in these 8 test innings, 99% of them were not of good deliveries. All were ordinary deliveries; most of them just on the off stump and unwarranted attempts to fishing outside the off stump caused the downfall. Our coach should have found out some solution to this problem and sorted out the same from the beginning itself and that was not done i guess. We must have a batting, bowling and fielding coach, if at all we seek any win, whether on home soil or abroad. The field coach could be one among the batting or bowling coach as well.

The batting was complete failure because of irresponsible and ordinary batting approach. There is no need for any of these players quitting the game nor should we drop them from the team. REST THEM when they are not performing and allow them to play domestic games to regain confidence.
