Srikanth needs to resign
by kumar on Jan 27, 2012 10:36 PM  | Hide replies

Srikanth needs to take the responsibility and need to resign. We need a new selection panel who can come up with fresh ideas.
Also it is better to remove Srinivasan. He along with Srikanth created the whole mess.

SriKanth resignation will not solve the problem. We have a dearth of talented batsmen (who can face bouncing and swinging deliveries)and three to four really good fast bowlers. Also mentally strong players are needed. Unless this issue is resolved, no matter who selects the team or what kind of team is selected, the problem will continue. BCCI is an abnoxious body controlled by politicians and their cronies busineesmen who have nothing to do with cricket. How can Indian cricket improve? Get rid of these parasites before any improvement can be made.

srikant has no courage to go against srinivasan. that is his only fault. in fact, personally srikant is a very popular guy but very much scared to speak against the srinivasan.

what has happened is the collective failure to take total responsiblity for game plan which is the immediate need to focus of attention is to ban cricket advertistment, and cricketers themselves and take up the blame on the selector to post mortan alanalysis of the indian cricket.

Get lost Viru and Gauty! you are the main culprits...
by K Ram on Jan 27, 2012 08:47 PM

If only The giants, The idols, The masters and LITTLE masters, The Gods have fallen to some lethal pace bowling, it can be digested. Falling to Lyons that too not due to any demons in the pitch or some great spin bowling; but, due to lack of application and reckless, irresponsible, gully cricketer like technique is inexplicable. As one commentator has put it, Lyon bowls with the back up of 500, 600 runs in the kitty and poor Ashwin doesn't have that luxury and that's the difference between their bowling. This is the worst ever series in recent memory team India has ever played. We all cricket fans only expect the board and the selectors have the guts to revamp the team completely and let better cricketing sense prevail and not regional / religion based quotas. Naming three separate teams for Tests, ODIs and T20s will give well deserved chance for players who have been frustratingly waiting in the bench for quite long. Let selection not be based on investments made on a player by the industry and be purely on merit. The collective failure is a blessing in disguise and the interest of the team should come first than any loyalty towards heftily paid cricketers (Afterall, they haven't done any honorary service to the nation) who on their part should accept the blame and retire gracefully rather than wanting to prove in a domestic series. And for heaven's sake, dump Ishant. If he can not bowl in Australia, he can not bowl anywhere else as well. The openers deserve to be dropped too

Year 2021
sachin finally scored his much hyped hundred in the 9th test against kenya in mumbai . He , however , said that he has no plans for retirement and feels that that there is still a lot of cricket left in him . And moreover , he said , that after kohli and ashwin have retired , there has been a vacuum in the team and he needs to be there to fill that gap. In the end he thanked his fans for suporting him and said that he dedicates this century to himself... err to country sorry. He said Bcci should organize tours of Kenys , zim , bangladesh and bermuda more often rather than just foccusing on South africa or aus.His request of playing in the t20s was put down by a special majority in parliament , he said no problem.

In 2008 in Australia India beat Australia in Australia in a triagular series final for the first time under Dhoni. The win in a test match abroad can be achieved either by bowling or batting well neither of which was done by the Indian team.

His bias against south Indians is well known. Ashwin is one of the reasonably good performer within India team. There are only 3 odd men out there- Ashwin, Yadav and Kohli

How can u comment that he is biased, he is the only person who bring outside coach to india. And stopped Indian monopoly, Remember the days when in india all the eleven players are from south & maharashtra, no other pplz left in that time in the team.

what this explayer is saying is completly rubbish
i watched his commentry he always had words against our ashwin
remember he was the one who removed talented opener S Ramesh from the team.
gulgulu was himself a below average batsman who was scared of bret li , mcgrath, donald, and shoiab akthar
i remember one over from bret lee where this gulguli was made to dance all the six deliveries he was also hit on the body on all the six occassions after which he cried like a baby

For your kind information 2002-2003 test series he scored century in first test match & showed nothing scaring in Aussies pitch. then only india showed courage & level the series with Australia after long time in their pitch. He taught Indian team to how to react in over seas pitch. i agree he is not as best batsmen as Sachin , Dravid & laxhmen in Test match but he showed the world taht one who can beat Ausies in Ausies is India only. All Indian players will re-act in bouncy pitch as Gangualy only, even Sachin also. so don't comment like childish.

Sourav Ganguly is the best Captain we ever had in terms of winning test matches(21). He teaches how to win test abroad and holds highest test winning record as a captain in India. As a batsman he holds 11000 runs in one day with 22 century and 7000 runs with 16 century in test at down position in batting order , both at an avg. above 41. He had the highest record of hitting sixes then and still in 4 th position in the world. In WC career in total run he was after Sachin with 4 century and no other Indian scored above 1000 runs. In one WC in total run also he was the second after Sachin in India. His 183 runs in WC against SRL was a legend and with a record partnership in WC. His 183 againt SRL was the second highest ever in WC and highest in India. He hold the most century record in one WC. He was 6 times MOM in test. Total 37 MOM which includes 5 consecutive against Pak and 7 MOS..He was one of the best opener in India, in 50 overs CKT, what statistics support. He has 11 one day century as captain and 5 test century as captain which no Indian captain have. He was only the third batsman to make a century in each of his first two innings and third batsman to score 100 in Lords in debut . Is the only Indian captain to win both the one-day and Test series in Pakistan. He was the best left handed batsman of India. Sourav Ganguly is the third player to score 10,000 ODI runs and second-fastest after Sachin Tendulkar He holds the pride of being involved in most number of 200 ODI

ODI partnerships and shares the record with Sachin Tendulkar for the maximum first-wicket ODI partnerships of 175 runs. Holding the second position for hitting the highest number of centuries in a calendar year (2000). In 1997 he was the highest run scorer in ODI in India. Everybody who have some knowledge in CKT and all experts agreed that. He brought killer instinct in captaincy in India and today India is getting benefit of that. Before his captaincy India used to made spinning tracks in India and loosing abroad. Also Indian team was selected by choosing provincial players as selectors own choice and after his captaincy players from different parts of India started getting chances. He leave his opening position which was proved one of the best opening partnership with Sachin (26 century partnership)in one day CKT after Greenidge and Heynes of WI and gave chance to Sehwag to open. How many captain will do that ? He was one of the rare who score a century and take 4 WKTS in one ODI.
Ganguly was also awarded with Padma Shri in 2004 for his magnanimous contribution to the world of cricket also he was awarded Arjuna award..

Also it should be in mind that every player have some weakness and drawback as a human and has some failure and also success. So, above statistics may not be accepted by a Sourav hater but who cares if all CKT pundits recognized a particular cricketer. His records and achievements will be for ever and he will be in heart of CKT lovers of India and

and world. Mind one thing that no Indian batsman love pace attack in aus,Eng ,SA,NZL. And green pitch. Only Gavaskar has the pride of face boldly against pace attack and no other batsman in India has that awesome record against WI to face Garner,Holding,Marshal and made maximum no. of 100 in WI and Lily/Thompson/Hadlee in those days when pitch was uncovered and so many guards were not available. As familiar and habit our players don’t love pace and aus/eng/sa/nzl don’t like spin. If a player always performs poor against pace how did he score so many runs in Test and ODI ?
