Sachin has indeed piled up individual records, but in a team game which has 11, these records pale into insignificance if the end result is defeat. In fact Sachin who has been around for almost 20 years has done precious little to see that India win tests abroad. During the almost 2 decades he has been with the team his presence has had no effect in India winning matches outside Indian soil. In fact his performance outside India has not been decisive and India has suffered some stupendous defeats. One wonders how with he in the team India could not win a series in AUS, SA, Sri Lanka and News Zealand on their home soil. A great player does pile up records, Bradman did so and so did Sobers and Richards, but they had an effect and saw to it that their teams won. Unfortunately this has not happened with Sachin in the Indian Team. He has piled up records but his performance has not ensured an Indian victory outside India. Even one can fault him on his commitment like he declined to tour the West Indies on the plea that he wanted to be with family. A professional player at the top will never give such a lame excuse to avoid playing on a difficult tour. The end result was disastrous as he entered the English tour without match practice and has come a cropper. He may still hit a hundred in the present series but that will be small consolation to Indian's as the series is truly lost. Question is if India cannot win abroad, do we need this man to just keep piling personal mileSTONES ?

Sachin should have retired from ODI after world cup. What is he going to achieve by playing more ODI. The answer is simple. He make's around 40 crores every year from endorcement. So he wants to keep playing till the money comes..

sachin has done nothing in SA,england and in australia he will get his 100th ton when teams like bangladesh and zimbabwe tour india to suffer on flat pitches he will raise his bat and head towards sky thats for sure.

Where did his 51st test century happen? In your dream? :-)
1) He never sails india to victory. 2) He is never there till the end. 3) He never strikes in a crucial stage. 4) He never plays well in finals. 5) He plays only on the Batsmen Friendly Indian Pitches 6) He is not like Steve Waugh or Bevan or Ponting.

Sachin's first Test century - saved India from defeat in England in 1990. Previous century - scored against Steyn and co in Cape Town and gave India an opening to win the Test. Bowlers were not able to bowl out Kallis. Is that his fault? Other examples - Edgbaston 1996, Cape Town 1997, MCG 1999, Headingley 2002, Multan 2004, Hamilton 2009, Centurion 2010. And I haven't even gotten to ODIs yet. I personally feel he should retire from ODIs. But I feel he, Dravid and Laxman can be rotated across the next few Test series at home till the new batsmen settle in.

Got it. You mean, the rest 10 players are not like Sachin. I wonder why we lost the series :)

kallis and pointing are better than sachin.A player is only great when he scores to win matches or to atleast save matches.Mr.sachin dosent have these qualities he needs only his 100th ton like BBCi needs money who cares for nation.Sachin will raise his head and bat when bangladesh or zimbabwe tour india to suffer on flat pitches thats for sure.
I have some suggestions. 1) Indian batsmen should be given three chances before being declared out. Only on the fourth occasion of getting out in an innings, should the umpire declare an Indian batsman out. 2. Indian bowlers should be allowed to throw the ball from a distance of 10 feet from the stumps when bowling. This should be permitted from any angle between 0 to 180 degrees from the stumps. I am deliberately not allowing an angle up to 360 degrees in all fairness to the opposition team. 3) Till an Indian fielder gets hold of the ball and comes ten feet near the stumps, opposition team batsman should not start for a run. He will be declared out otherwise. 4. Indian team can play two innings but opposition team should play only one innings. 5) Boundary rope when Indian batsman plays should be at half the distance compared to the distance for the opposition team. 6. A catch by an Indian fielder after a bounce should be taken as a valid catch. 7) The umpire should be always an Indian politician who has served as an assembly speaker. He will see to it that all appeals by Indian team are upheld and the appeals by the opposition team are turned down till our team wins. BCCI to take up with ICC before the next match involving India begins. I am giving these suggestions which when implemented will enable our die hard, loyal cricket fans to get back their heroes.

2011 WC final - Sachin score - 18 runs - India won due to efforts of Gambir and Kohli.
2007 WC knockout against Srilanka - duck - India Lost
2003 WC Final against Australia - 4 runs (India lost by shameless 125 runs)
1999 WC supersixes knockout against NZ - 16 runs - India lost
1996 WC Semi-final against Srilanka - 65 runs - India lost
1992 WC knockout against South Africa - 14 runs - India lost
These statistics provide excellent base to think if Sachin was ever our rescuer for any crucial knockout encounter. No doubt he is a great batsman but not the best of players.

Lies!
1992 WC - India was already knocked out as they had lost the games against New Zealand and West Indies.
1996 WC - Scored the highest number of runs in the WC, including 90 against Australia, 65 in the semis and 137 against the champions Sri Lanka in the league stages.
1999 WC - India had already been knocked out by losing against Australia and not carrying any points into the Super Sixes.
2003 WC - Virtually won the match against Pakistan by his innings of 97. Scored well against most other opponents. Fell short in the final.
2007 WC - Sachin fails. India are knocked out.
2011 WC - Scored 2 hundreds in the tournament and an 85 against Pak in semi-final.
Biased opinion is one thing, but blatant lying abt facts which are there for all to see is quite another. Why you have this impression is because India mostly fails when Sachin fails. When he succeeds, you don't even realise that there was a crisis.

In Test cricket,,, sachin sorry to say has been a miserable failure.. all his runs barring a few have no significance to the end result.
The poor chap is confused about his game and the fame and name... or his shrewd manipulation of down to earth simpleton personality has backfired finally because of the ruthless bowling by England and Aussies...
Fact remains, if going gets tough, Sachin cannot be seen anywhere in the vicinity..

Why should he? He has the 2nd highest aggregate and average of all Indian batsmen in the series.
and removes his helmet pelt him with tomatoes and tell him to never hold a bat again and leave team india for good. But in a few months crazy indians will be back watching ipl etc etc. Shameless fellow. What's that saying? Don't pour water only one tree. Give all the trees water regardless of their age, height, weight, color, etc etc. But in India, we have Sachin, Dhoni, Shah rukh, all the sons & daughters of previous actors, lata mang, amitabh who we keep feeding and feeding and feeding and feeding. Look outside India plzz. No one cares about cricket and this confused film industry which talks in english, reviews in english but acts in hindi. I mean Kareena's face looks like a paratha. How in the world people accept her as an actress?
