I've been watching cricket for more than 3 decades.. Earlier it used to be touch against WI. There also Gavaskar, Mohinder, Kapil Dev, Vishwanath use to show some fight (leave alone vengsarkar he is not good player of bouncer). Where is the fight here? Even against Australia sandeep patil played great knocks in 80-81 series against Lillie, Pascoe etc., I still remember eventhough we went 2-0 in the 83 series against WI in WI, Jimmy was playing like hell (clive lloyd said he is the best against Holding,Marshall,Roberts).. But this team under Dhoni is the worst I have ever seen. As a 91 year old senior citizen, I have been uneasily following India's recent sorry trail of pathetic surrenders on the cricket field. My 94 year old live-in girlfriend summarised the situation aptly when she cackled, waved her walking-stick menacing in the air and proclaimed loudly to all who cared to listen that 'Any side in the world can still beat India effortlessly' Eh? Is Srinivasan right or my 94 year old darlin'? Within my now insecure head is echoing the answer that my gf, as usual, is once again right and I'm beating a meek retreat from her aggressive challenge to place my hard-earned pension money on an India win at Adelaide.
