I hope this is the sun set of Dhoni as a Test Player.

I do not know what credits and merits he have to play in Indian Test team, if he is not a captain.

his record in t-20 intnl is worse than test as batsman & captain.
Avg less than 25, strike rate only 100, no mOM or match winning inning.Lost two consecutive wcup in 2008 & 2010 in 1st round loosing all matches. India is ranked 5th in T-20 out of 6 countries playing serious cricket.
He is a big laibility in test & t-20 for last 5 yrs.

Last triangular series in aus - india won as sachin was in form hitiing two near back to back century i final & a good inning in S/F.
Dhoni was big flop in ODI also with higest score as 37.
Dhoni was big flop in SA series oDI also as he failed in all 5 matches.
Overseas he is a liability in all formats of game as a captain as well as a player

What did he do to wind up?
by Manoj M on Jan 19, 2012 12:26 PM  | Hide replies

He just had to do keeping for 1 innings in the last tests, few minutes of batting in all tests, why does he need to unwind?

you are right! he was unwinding in all the three tests. how much time did he spend at the batting crease? maybe he is unwinding because australia's batting kept him for long hours as a keeper - since this must be his last tour of australia, better to savour the wines of australia now

Always create hype before any Series begins, and India lose shamelessly to leave Nation shocked.

Despite losing 3-0 and about to get whitewashed 4-0, they are still reporting about who enjoyed where and at whose expense he is traveling and enjoying his life.

According to you, since Indian team has lost.. they should not relax.. they should practice always... they should not visit any places.. they should not spend time with their families..at least you are not saying.. may be they should not eat,,should not drink water not breathe .. die!!!

They don't deserve to Enjoy after they lose in such a hopeless manner.

Basically most Indians lack pride, so it is no use saying anything to them.

Create new performance indicators
by NIRJHAR MAJUMDAR on Jan 19, 2012 11:58 AM

The captains, coaches,"top" batsmen etc should be judged more by their overseas performance. The match fees, contract money etc should be based more on that.
At home soil, any good Ranji player may make a hundred as pitches favour home team.
In fact, for any sport, the overseas performance at prestigious tournaments should matter more.
On this count,Vishwanathan Anand,Saina Nehiwal,Deepika Kumari and Abhinav Bindra are more successful than our cricketers.
