is there a mole in Indian camp that exposes indian plans
by D S on Jan 19, 2012 05:02 AM

PAKISTAN selectors with less at disposal can think better. Even after being restricted by the ban of key players. Pakis know what indian public have been suggesting, india needed to persist with 2 or 1 specialist spinner of kumble class to explore weakness of ghoras. BUT SOMEONE in india whether it is selectors or fletcher or cartel in team is misadvising them. they have misadvised on bowling lineup, misadvised on batting lineup. NOBODY IN INDIA CAN HELP .... IT IS LIKE BJP-CONGRESS CARTEL. they lLeech india from both sides. specialist Pragyan/Rahul should be first option over and above Ashwin, then it should be Ashwin. Similar should have happened with batting lineup.

Srikanth tamil politics killed the team. He needs to resign
by kumar on Jan 19, 2012 03:40 AM  | Hide replies

Srikanth killed the whole team by going for Tamil selections and playing dirty politics. He is main culprit for all this mess. His answer is simple. It's a team failure. He gave opportunities after opportunities for the following tamils when players like Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Pujara, M pandey, Rayudu, Dhawan are playing well. He gave opportunities to
Vijay Murali
Abhinav Mukund
Badri
Dinesh Karthik
Ashwin
even after repeated failures. If you look last 3 to 4 years, the above got lot of opportunities as if they are legends. This killed the spirit of indian team. Now everyone is seeing the results.
Don;t understand why he doesn;t want to resign? Adding this is BCCI Secretary Srinivasan who is playing tamil politics. Unless these two are removed, there is nothing that can save india.

Selectors are culprit, and team is showing them result..of messup. First play as a unit and then think of team...see Pak is doing well playing against English team.

Not sure where to start...
by Voosan Raj on Jan 19, 2012 03:26 AM

I'm sure this topic will be one of the most discussed topic. I've read few of them. Most of them are tactical view points. Most of them are suggesting take Player X out, bring Player Y. Drop this, Pick that etc. Addressing them is not fix the problem. What really ails indian cricket is that Indian Cricket (Including team, board etc) rely heavily on emotions and instincts. Given how they have played so far in Eng or Aus, it appears the team has no strategy or definitive plans. I'm not sure if it is lack of skills, it can't be since same set of people have won games. Somewhere the planning is not working. Somehow there is a problem in doing basic things right. The players are not applying themselves properly. I bet everyone believes they are playing great in nets, and not nicking the balls to the slips, but when they come to the real game, everything changes.
If there is a catastrophic problem with the team, there is only one thing I can think of. I'm starting to feel strongly about this now. I feel the reflexes of Dravid, Laxman and Tendulkar have become significantly slower in last 6-8 months. The balls they are getting bowled or LBW to, were getting dispatched to boundary couple of yrs ago. Somehow this is getting translated as a fear to rest of the team. Perhaps there is a thought that Dravid/Tendulkar/Laxman can get bowled/LBW, then anyone can get out. Kohli/Ashwin played out of their skins and they got good results. I guess all they need is self belief and confide

another suggestion !!!
by Khalid Moosa on Jan 19, 2012 03:06 AM

Pujara domestic stastics reminded me of a Don Bradman we did not utilise him when he was in Prime touch also dropping Irfan was a wrong decision such errors should be avoided plus Raina and Rohit are batting keys for India plz note

Important points to note - Major surgeries need of the hour
by powerful Goldstar on Jan 19, 2012 03:02 AM

Firstly, we need to look back at history a bit. After the 83 - 85 season when India won series in Australia (remember Ravi Shastri won a car), when has India really won a series convincingly on Australia or South Africa or England ? The current debacle is not a new story of Indian cricket. Right from the 1990's Indian batsmen are poor players on fast bouncy pitches abroad. Rightly put, they are panthers at home, rats abroad. There are multiple reasons for this but it is absolute waste of time discussing them because the BCCI nor the Cricket selectors in India are going to take note of them and try to improve Indian cricket. All they want is a Sehwag thrashing a lowly West Indies team on a dead track with some pyrotechnics or minting money through IPL. Improving standard of Indian cricket is their last priority. Unless we prepare a mix of fast bouncy and slow turning pitches at different venues thereby exposing our younger generation of cricket players to adapt quickly to various forms of bowling, we are going to lose again and again abroad. Non performing players be old or young should be rested and rotated immediately. Many players are just passengers for many overseas tours only due to their past statistics on dead slow tracks. Sehwag, Sachin, Dhoni, Dravid should be dropped immediately. Promising fast bowlers should be given oppurtunities. The Regional lobbies in player selection should be eliminated. But ultimately nothing is going to happen and we will be croppers again
