Good that this overated, overexposed and overpaid cricketers
by Shri Hegde on Jan 15, 2012 01:37 PM  | Hide replies

true capability is exposed. They are good to pay in the IPL with their friends and have late night parties with the Bollywood girls. I hope people of India wake up to the other real heros of India sports in other fields.

I do not agree with this disguised aussie fellow
---
mate ,how are they exposed ?

by bowling at their arm pits ,legs ,and on their shoulders ?

with all raw speed ?
I do not think so ?
---
agree that some deleveries that did - shehwah ,gambhir and dravid are good deleveries
---
Sachins dismissal is a bit debatable ?

Indias tail was unravelled with all short pitch balls
---
Indian team needs some simulated conditions in india ,before they come on the TOUR
---
Casual attitude by BCCI,and management is what I hold most accountable for ?

---
Players I will blame if still they fail ,inspite of making bouncy pitches in India

tILL that time I give benegit of doubt to players

People have already woken up and have started shunning cricket. Proof : The dwindling spectator patronage / interest, TRS ratings and the gate collections... How can a chennaiite identify himself with a Chennai Super Kings team in which, the Aniruddhas, Mukunds, Yomys and Aushiks are ignored and lesser guys like, Joginders and Jakatis are given precedence over the local boys? The mad craze that was seen before was missing in the last IPL itself and sooner a time will come when the stake holders shall not be able to pay the players their dues. Our cricketers are no more idols they used to be abd they have once again proved to be a lesser mortals like a Sibanda or Taibu. There's definitely much more interest in other games these days, thanks to the "splendid", spineless, toothless performance by the ace players abroad.

India's dismal show at OZ
by krishnamurthy sridhar on Jan 15, 2012 01:37 PM

There had been plenty of talks about the Seniors in the side (most of them are in their wrong side of 30s) and also about the much talked about "Sachin's magic 100/100". Destiny had the final laugh and now the Indian Think tank have to really start grooming the youngsters. We have enough bench strengh at the batting line up - Virat, Rohit, Tejeswar Pujara, Manoj Tiwari, Rahane etc.,have to be given their channces. As far as the seniors are concerned, they should have retired by now giving way to these youngsters. Otherwise it would be the same old story of "Blight on Blighty"

I agree 100%. BCCI should be nationalised. The game is being slowly killed after these people had made their killing in ads. They do not lose personally even if the team loses.
That says all.

It's time BCCI takes some bold decisions...

The Indian team now in Oz have lived up to age old tag of "tigers at home and chauffers abroad". Beaten 4-0 by the English, they are now bracing up for a 4-0 whitewash downunder. Basically our guys seems to have gone on a sight-seeing to Oz at the expense of BCCI than play some serious cricket. Aussies' game level clearly seems to be several notches higher to our lameduck team and there seems to be a yawning gap between them and us. Whatever feelings of "being on top of the world" generated after lifting the world cup last year seems to have bust like a bubble in the air. After getting thrashed at the hands of English, now it looks like a double whammy down under. Media too seems to focus more on "Sachin's 100th ton" than on the team or the matches which is ridiculous. I request BCCI to quickly arrange a short home series inviting dead woods like Bangladesh or Kenya or Zimbabwe so that Sachin reaches his milestone and he can be eased out of the team with a "golden handshake" (from all formats of the game) along with other senior citizens in the team like Dravid, Laxman, and Shewag. It's about time that we groom younger blood like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ashwin, Paul Valthaty, etc. and focus on World Cup 2014 and regaining world no.1 slot.

Agreed. I think we have already lost lot of time in giving Sehwag & VVs and Sachin for his 100th 100 therby loosing precious time in bringing up young talent as mentioned in your msg.

BCCI does nt want DRS. They are keen only in T20 to make quick bucks. They want test matches to die. It can be seen from the batting display of our stalwarts.
