Looks like everyone (SELECTORS & PLAYERS) is under influence!!
This happens when there is too much MONEY in the offing and there is no SELF DICIPLINE.
The question also lies One Day vs. Long format (Test matches). Requires a total different mind set.
There must be a major shake-up from TOP to BOTTOM (Selectors & Players). People who can add value selflessly must qualify.
Let’s throw out the old player. They have lost their self esteem and do not know to retire gracefully. It’s about time to show them the door UNFORTUNATELY. They are seat warmers in the team and earning big money for themselves without delivering any goods. What a SHAME. Do not know how a country of 1 Billion can tolerate that????
It’s too much MONEY….MONEY….with no SELF DICIPLINE and DEDICATION.
1] TENDULKAR HAS BEEN PLAYING FOR MANY YEARS. 2] BCCI HAS GIVEN HIM MANY REST TOURS SO THAT HIS YEARS IN INTERNATIONAL CRICKET MAY BE EXTENDED. 3] HE HAS GIVEN HIS BEST & MAID TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN THE BARGAIN. 4] NOW HE IS A FLOP STAR & WILL NEVER GET HIS 100 TON. 5] HE SHUD RETIRE WITH PRIDE RATHEWR THAN PLAY WITH KIDS AND TRY SCORE A CENTURY. HE WILL FAIL THERE ALSO.

See the case of Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Ganguly... they stuck their butts until the selectors asked them to move out, rather shamefully... same is the case of Sachin Tendulkar...
Why cant our seniors follow greats like Brian Lara, Mark Taylor, Adam Gilchrist, Glenn McGrath, Murlitharan, Mahew Hayden, Shane Warne...
By doing so, they have etched their names in gold in Crifcket history... they retired when the world world was on thier knees...
He has won the world cup and has achieved everything. Even though I agree he is playing well in ODIs, he is just preventing another talented player to emerge out of Indian cricket by hogging opening slot. Indian cricket is full of talented players and they should get the chance.

Doesn't sachin think that he is getting older and has nothing to prove in any format of the game???? why such steadfastness and blocking the position of some worthy youngster. Didn't he get a chance when he was 16???
I guess no senior player would go voluntarily so selectors should now overlook the seniors.
