Why TENDULKAR? Enough is Enough, HE SHOULD RETIRE. He has been given UNLIMITED OPPORTUNITY. Too Bad, we if you cannot achieve everything in life.

opportunist to the core
by Ban Cricket on Jan 15, 2012 08:48 PM  | Hide replies

the most selfish and records centric player in the history of this game would be tingu....

why does he fear to open in tests???????

As he is the most so called gifted and best bastman that India has, why doesn't he open with Gambhir and allow Sehwag to come down the order..
In ODI's he wants to open the batting whereas in Tests he wishes to protect his position...

I feel the reason is, in ODI's its pretty easy to score runs at the start as the field restrictions r in place.. In Tests u do not have that advantage. He prefers to come lower down the order when the bowlers r a bit tired and the ball is old and not moving much.....
Seems like a smart move which has paid him rich dividends while concealing his abilities to tackle swing bowling.

openers getting out at the 80th over is a rarity in indian batting. most of the time he comes when ball is 40-50 overs old...
and in case he does come when the ball is new he doesn't last long.

navdeep: tingu is sure that if he opens in tests, his average would be below 40 and he does not want to risk that.

Sachin has been the highset scorer from India in the present series so far. He has been the most competant batsman on view in the series. It is good that he is selected for the ODI series. There should be some yardstick for this 'Sachin bashing'.

Why Harbhajan and Yuraj not in the team?
by Arv Singh on Jan 15, 2012 08:33 PM  | Hide replies

Two players who contributed to taking India to number 1 position are left out because of politics. Harbhajan with over 400 wickets is the highest wicket taking bowler in India but he is not selected. Why? Now don't tell me that he was not selected because of his performance in England. This argument does not work as the Laxman, Sehwag, and Dravid flop show goes on forever. His replacements have been below mediocre, all club level players at best. Ricky Ponting was called Harbhajan's bunny and Aussies would have found him hard to handle. So why is he not in the team?

Yuvraj has never been given a longer run in the team as if someone is waiting for him to fail once and take him out of team. Who can forget his 6 sixes against Stuart Broad. Its the same Broad who troubled the famed Indian batting line-up in summer. So why is Yuvraj not in the team? Oh, I forgot, poor guy has been diagnosed with lung tumor. I hope he recovers well and plays for India once again. Amazing, how Indian selectors can leave out the "Man of the Series" in WC2011 who has been "Man of the Series" seven times ... yes seven times in ODI Series. But he does not find place in the team. The wonders of Indian politics , I guess.

No wonder, Indians folds up like a spineless team when ever playing outside India. WI and England in 2011, and now Australia.

Fire Duncan Fletcher, the flop coach!
Fire K Srikkanth for his biased selections!
Fire Dhoni for uninspired leadership!

"Sachin" should Choose Either "Tennis " or &q
by Rakesh nair on Jan 15, 2012 08:32 PM

In next "Birth" sachin should choose either "Tennis" or "Golf" or ".." as sports to Excel..
The Surprising fact is inspite of "Humiliation" by "Aussies" some Individual players Like "Sachin","Dhoni", "Sehwag" is so "Happy"
These "Individual players" have become so "Powerful" & "Arrogant" that they are so sure of there "Place" in the side.
The Time has come to say "Goodbye" to "Sachin",still he is the "best batsmen" but his "Appetite" for playing for "Team India" has gone & he is Surviving only becoz of his "Personal Records"
"Sachin" can only "bat",his "Fitness" is so poor that "Dhoni" has to "hide" him in the Field & most of the time he is in the "Dressing" room at the time of "Fielding".
"Individual players" will njoy "Australia" for nest 10days with wifes/gfs becoz they are "Earning" Crores & the Trio of sachin, dhoni & Sehwag earning almost "90%" OF "Team India".

Sachin's selection
by Venkatachalam on Jan 15, 2012 08:28 PM  | Hide replies

It seems that the BCCI is bent upon giving as many chances to Sachin so that he can achieve the 100th ton.I do not think that this will happen in any other country playing cricket.

Would BCCI wake up from its deep slumber????
by K Ram on Jan 15, 2012 08:19 PM

It's not that, there are no better players around. It's just that, the selectors from their respective zones turn a blind eye towards them and their performances. There's a lot to be done. But, BCCI will only look in to aspects that would fill their coffers. The battle between teams in each zone must be on level playing field. For example, performance in east zone can not be given same weightage as that of west zone. Deserving players must be given exposure at inter zonal competitions and practice matches against visiting teams. There should be 3 different teams under 3 different captains for each format (Tests, ODIs & T20s) of the game. This will give fair chances to all good players and players will not complain of overwork and exhaustion; hence, less injury risks too. Any player however great he may be should be replaced if fails in consecutive 4 or 6 innings not withstanding the age old idiotic saying, "form is temporary and class is permanent". But, all this won't sure fall in the deaf ears of men concerned. But if only someone has an idea of marketing the game better and making some more money, they'll be too interested to give their ears and time. That's how, things run here.
