BUT FOR SOME MIRACLE AUS GO UP 2-0
by damodaran mohan on Jan 03, 2012 05:13 PM  | Hide replies

It was the batting collapse story yet again for the umpteenth time. Only a miracle can save India now because two main batsmen Gambhir and Laxman are looking hopeless cases needing replacement.Except for Sachin rest of the Top order including Sehwag were in no position to handle the moving ball.As far as Sehwahg goes nothing can be done but allow him to play his game for rest of the Test and one dayers. It would have been better if he had not been cautious and hit the ball with full force the way he does normally. As far Dravid is concerned he does look uncomfortable to the new moving ball however should be ok in case he comes in after 20-25 overs should India get a reasonable start of say 70 for 1. May be either Rahane or Rohit Sharma could open with Dravid to follow. Sachin looks ok and Virat was looking very good till he got outand has to be persisted with. Dhoni also redeeemed himself and should give him confidence for the remaining Tests. So, the up of Sehwag,Rahane,Dravid,Sachin,Virat,Rohit,Dhoni for at least the current series. As regards bowling the vintage Zaheer was to be seen for once with the intensity and the hunger for taking wicket. It is the usual story for Ishant but Umesh was not disciplined in line and length. They should bowl just the length the aussie bowlers are bowling----the awkward length that got Dravid,Virat,Sachin,Ashwin etc. got out.

Laxman to score in Second Innings
by Think Again on Jan 03, 2012 04:50 PM

I know laxman looks out of sort but i still bank on him to score in second innings of next 3 tests. He just needs to spend time and once he score above 10, he will have the edge over Aussies. Also the problem being , he is exposed to New Ball early. India has to bat laxman lower the order if wickets fall early. Laxman is the only man who can un settle AUS once he settles down. Having said that, next 3 innings could be his last if he does not score..but he should be lucky

Harsh truths!

Even before these poor performances, I had severe doubts whether our nearly forty-years olds will have the reflexes to face pacers who will go the extra mile on the fast wickets. SRT is a legend, but with all respects, the Wall & VVS are still good in our slower wickets only. Ah common, reflexes slow down - ask the all-time-great Roger; is he not been given a hiding by the Joker? The Don was asked, how much he will avearge in modern days; his reply was that he will be happy with fifty. And then he divereed the coup de grace; don't forget, I am over seventy years old!

Nitpick but Roger was not given a hiding by Nole. You're thinking of Rafa.

Agreed, Rafa is reeling. But Roger, the best ever, too go a hiding even last week from the Joker. At thirty Roger is slower, that applies to our greats too

Y??
by abhilash mulky on Jan 03, 2012 04:32 PM  | Hide replies

Y is that Rohit Sharma not included in team? I don't think there are better batsman than him playing in this test..Sachin, Dravid and Sehwag can not be dropped..They are top class...If at all Dhoni wants Gambhir to play, he shouldn't be opening then...No.7 or 8 would fit him...He could have even dropped Laxman who is showing poor technique again and again... Kohli is not match for Rohit when it comes to talent..But Kohli is more dedicated than Rohit...Now everyone remembers Akash Chopra...In 2003, when India did so well no body bothered to praise him...he played so well in that series...But we don't want to win...we want to see individual cameos....

I really can't understand y people want Big three to quit test cricket...If they should retire, then BCCI must make sure that Indian team plays in the sub-continent only....Our youngsters aren't good enough to play test cricket..they can only play fun cricket...Sachin once again showed his master class...Dravid is Class player..he will return to form in the very next innings...Laxman looks out of touch now-a-days....

we indians in Africa need rohit sharma to play for South-Africa someday. with they way things are, we care least whether india wins or looses.

today, kirsten knows rohit sharma and cape town would be good start for rohit sharma. We think kirsten wont mind rohit. there is lot of dirty POLITICS IS INDIA and nothing more.

no hate for dhoni, read all the support we have given him when akram and ganguly whipped him. but he messed up again.
