Manoj Tewari should be an automatic choice in indian team
by subrata banerjee on Feb 24, 2012 04:23 PM  | Hide replies

Instead of selecting dead horses, I would like gto requeet Mohinderji (a most badly treated indian great cricketier, who is also called a great COME BACK man and who know the wounds of good players without proper backing) to recruit good young promising players who has exhibited good performance but in the next game dropped surprisingly. Manoj Tewari scored a century in the last one day game but dropped from the australian squad because of the reasons best known to the indian selectors.

He is not dropped he is in the team but yet to get a chance to play. In Australian conditions no player could be claimed as an automatic choice unless he proved there in the past.

Enough, Irfan is now an old story, bring new blood allrounder
by subrata banerjee on Feb 24, 2012 04:15 PM  | Hide replies

Not only Irfan, I fail to understand why Suresh Raina has been selecting as an all rounder. this is rediculous. Long ago Irfan proved himself a complete failure and accordingly dropped from indian sq2uad but again he surprisingly got selection in one day series in australia. But for why? he got some wickets but at what cost? Because of Irfan india consumed huge punishment from australian batsmen in india's last over, and for this, india lost the game. I also fail to understand, what for Suresh Raina is being selected series after series? in this tour of australia see his [performance both in bowling department and also as a batsman. This Raina must be dropped.

Subrata, you better check statistics before you write something about a player. Raina might have failed in this series but you should know that even Sachin and Sehwag also failed miserably. Did you ask why they were selected for this tour? Raina has played several useful innings in the past to win matches for the Country. He is young. He is also a terrific fielder who can save 20 odd runs by his fielding alone. He also bowld economically. We need him for future.

Hv faith in Kohli, Raina, Ashwin, Irfan, Yadav.. Gambhir needs to be replaced... Tiwari from the day he started career has been unfortunate.. he was selected with Rohit sharma but cud not due to an injury..rohit went on to play and has now played for 4 yrs..we shud also try Paul Valthaty, Manish Pandey, Sourab Tiwari... We shud gv one more chance to Yusuf before next world cup.. when he comes to bat.. my adrenalin starts getting pumped up...

Well his ability is to swing it not pace. He still bowls around 127-130. But he has got his inswing back it seems which is the key to his success.

Irfan Pathun- I am a batting allrounder who cannot bat, a bowling allrounder who cannot bowl & a fielding allrounder who cannot field.
But,I will bowl terrifyingly in Arctic/Antartic conditions only.
You should all remember that in my 8 years of International career, I bowler one great swinging delivery which went for a wide six.

Well you found all his negatives. He has also won matches for us with his bowling and the key was his swing. But your eyes obviously missed it all.
