There is no threat for Gambhir place. Dhoni will not drop him.

play cheteshwar, ajinkya and tiwary

instead of the white elephants sachin and sehwag. both are out of form and god alone can say when will they regain the lost form or will they ever be able to do so. when gavaskar retired, everybody was worried what would happen to indian team. same applies now. someday tendlya will have to hang his boots, then why not now? 99 centuries too, are more than enough to keep him on the everest of cricket.

Australian Selectors have shown door to Pointing, but in case of BCCI they don't belive in Door Policies, everything come to them from backdoor polices

CB series 2007...
by Anurag Rathore on Feb 22, 2012 04:26 PM  | Hide replies

Just before CB series 2007 Dhoni asked selectors to remove Dravid and Ganguly from ODI squad. We got good result. Now time has come to drop both Sachin and Sehwag from ODI.

In India even Raina makes a century, what's so great. Players like Dhoni are more valuable as he can play with reasonable success even in tough situation.

dhoni is becoming too big for his boots
by Nemeesh Kapoor on Feb 22, 2012 04:24 PM  | Hide replies

Players are selected in team primarily as batsman or bowler. There is no specialist fielder tag to select a player in the team. If the player doesnt score runs, the team total will be too low to defend even if the player is a top fielder. As Ganguly said: How can be a player who scores just 10-15 runs be better than a player who scores 90 runs? Dhoni is just trying to make his own team. and that catch by viru proves that he is an outstanding fielder

Sachin and Sehwag have safe hands. It's just that they are slow as outfielder. They can't stop a batsman to rotate strike.

Unfortunately Sehwag & Gambhir are already too big for their boots and should have been thrown out long time ago. Had it not been for Dhoni, India would not have won single match & I feel Dhoni deliberately gave slow over rate so that public can see for themselves over rated & unionist players like Sehwag & Gambhir

impose conditions
by sarath on Feb 22, 2012 04:15 PM  | Hide replies

Our players are not playing for the country or they love the game. The hard fact is they play for money. If you really want to see improvements- 1. Impose penality if they play bad shot like sehwag did number of times. Impose conditions that if any player does not score 30 runs no payment-reward them if they score 50 runs and 100. Pay them with performance and efforts. Do not fix grades for one year but make it series by series.
Sehwag must not be paid any money for his entire tour of Australia. He is the player who has treated this tour as holiday with pay. He is looking for IPL and not International matches. He should have been punished for one year ban for making that shot against Sri Lanka. How many times he comes back in the first over itself? If you have to score 4 runs and if you have only sehwag 90% you would loose match as he would be caught playing irresponsible shot.

why include Gambir with Sachin and sehwag?
by shekhar vaidyanathan on Feb 22, 2012 04:08 PM

Gambhir is the main reason for whatever the world cups Dhoni has won for India. He performs in crucial finals. Dhoni or nobody should talk about Gambir. May be he is not spectacular like Sachin or Sehwag. when need he performed unlike the other the other two who never performed in finals of world cups.
